Wouldn't entertain selling Roberts for less than 12m even then I'd be surprised if we were able to replace him with only a day of the window left.

FWIW if Southampton offer £10m for Roberts and he wants away we should sell. IMO.

I might have thought similar until I saw Abdoullah Ba attempt to fill Roberts' boots last weekend.

Thought of Ba playing on the wing until January gives me the shivers.

I'm all for the clubs model. Our strategy is great. In my opinion the execution of it this last 2 months has been awful.
Thought the start to the window was fine, early business, cracking extensions throughout. Last 3 weeks have been frustrating, unlikely to have a senior striker available for first 6 games is poor. Stewart was always likely going to leave (thought he’d stay when it got this late, never mind). We needed competition for Roberts going into tomorrow, if you sell him, we lose proven quality and will need 2x strikers, 2x wingers, cdm. Be surprised if we pulled that off in a day. Big day tomorrow

Hope we don’t do knee jerk stuff to get fans onside like we did with Defoe. Fingers crossed we’ve prepared for this.

We're at the point now where a knee jerk is practically a must with only 24 hours left, and no new names being linked.

The silence from the club is madness mind.

We know clubs watch forums and such, and they are seeing people going into meltdown and people who have supported the ‘model’ and ownership start to turn.

That’s very difficult to turn back, and the entire model fails of lose the fans.

We are averaging 40k. We were averaging closer to 26k before place got a bit of a buzz.

There’s a real risk it goes flat on its arse again here. I, and most, accept we overachieved last season and was more hopeful than expectant this year.

What I didn’t expect was abstract failure to recruit anyone first team ready, and sale of prime assets below value.

Tomorrow is potentially a major crossroads for the club, the owners, the model.

I’m an eternal optimist, generally positive, and live my life by ‘what can we change to move forward’. I’m struggling right now to see where club is pulling.

Obv this is football so I hold the right to rescind this comment tomorrow. I ha e a sinking feeling I won’t though.

This is why it's not easy following the 'model' , but in long run it's maybe our best chance of growing the club on solid foundations.

FWIW I don't think there's much more upside on Roberts, but don't agree with selling him, should have given him 4 years. Could always sell him halfway through anyway
