I mean that’s one argument. It’s another reasonable one to think he wants to play in the premier league and is looking at our squad and thinking Southampton is his best chance. Especially if you add the extra salary into it.

I think this is the third time this window that Roberts has been touted to move and he has stated through his brother twice he is happy and playing his best football, he may go he may not but to be honest I think he will be offered a new contract once the window closes so at the minute am not worried but if Southampton want to throw 20-25 million at us for 2 players then I think we would be foolish not to look at it.

you're right but I take literally anything an agent says with a pinch of salt

Anybody with just one year left we should be actively trying to sell.

I don’t think we’ve been doing that. Instead we seem to have a “wait and hope” approach to contracts.

It's amazing how positive you were a short time ago but you seem to be falling into a negative spin during this transfer window. A lot of contracts get sorted after the window as clubs need to see what they have spent what deals are available and what the balance sheet looks like. my gut feeling is that Roberts will be one of our top earners so his contract will be sorted once the window closes.
