So if the club are treating him as innocent why is he suspended.
Are you on the wind up? <laugh>

They can't sack him until found guilty, without leaving themselves open wrongful dismissal claims if the opposite happens

They can't play him while under investigation for such a serious allegation, because if he's then found guilty it doesn't look good on the club

He's basically in limbo until the verdict. Club can't do anything but what they've done

Now stop looking for an argument ya wum

Diamond will have been charged under the clubs internal disciplinary procedures and then that process immediately halted pending the outcome of the police investigation/legal proceedings. He is suspended because the allegations, if proven are a dismissible offence.

If he is found not guilty in a court of law, the clubs internal disciplinary procedures will then recommence, he could be found not guilty in a criminal case in court but guilty by the club because of the lesser burden of proof required.

The level of proof required for a criminal conviction is “beyond all reasonable doubt”, in all other cases the burden of proof is “the balance of probability”

With Stansfield it looks like we were in for him, but as soon as an option to stay closer to home came up, he chose that ahead of us. Whether he turned us down to go to Birmingham or we pulled out because it became clear he didn't really want to come here, it'll come out in the end. But the thing is we can't force players to sign and having been stung in the past with players who were here under sufferance, it's better to let them go than sign them and then have them be disruptive or not committed and try and land the ones who go want to be here. But some of our fans just seem to want to ignore that and use it to beat the club with.

I think Standfield had questions put to him, Birmingham have to appear his choice....but far to much of a coincidence were close on Ukraine lad & he goes there, to me, we let Fulham know were not interested any more & its deal done for him. Hold up eas Mitrovic wasn't it? Still there far as i know

Club will have taken proper legal advice on how to proceed (I.e. not Mags Byrne) and be playing absolutely by the book. Isn’t one of the Dreyfus family lawyers on the board?

So to segway back to transfer news, I’m speculating Diamond will never again pull on a pair of boots while on our books regardless of the outcome. He’ll be released by club as soon as the case is over, either in handcuffs, in disgrace or if found innocent to allow him to ‘move on’.

Correct on all points I reckon. Apart from segway.

Southampton are selling Tella for £20 mil. Wonder who they replace him with. They haven’t seem to spend much money so far considering how much money they’ve brought in from player sales.

Hopefully won’t test our resolve for Roberts. Would imagine they’d not go for Clarke based on the cost but Roberts would be significantly cheaper.

Yeah, only know a bit about him, but he made millions on gambling through algorithms and enlisted data scientists.

Transferred a similar logic to player recruitment by the sounds of it. Like you say, he's a genius.

Southampton had the "black box" about 12 years ago, new who they wanted for there next 3 managers, sold one player, cheap better replacement came in, copy paste repeat. I wouldn't be surprised if he looked into what and how they were doing it.

He's a massive fan of Cadburys world. They gave him a 12 month pass, apparently that was the clincher.

I know this unpopular but if I had to lose a first team player, my reluctant first pick would be Roberts. Unbelievable touch and dribbling but doesn’t get enough goal contributions for me. I think he’s one that if he stays and works with the coaches he could be a late developer and become a PL player.

Friday night 11.39pm - <cheers>

I'd have thought it was pretty obvious I was playing devil's advocate and suggesting various scenarios. It's a valid question, on a transfer thread, because he's taking a wage that may be eating into the transfer budget.

Now, do you have any transfer news or are you just here for an argument <laugh>

See, he’d be the last I’d sell.

His stats were lowered by giving the ball to Amad, I’d love to know his ‘pass to assist’ or ‘key pass’ stats.

Little between him and Jacky for me, both superb, but Jacks more direct and runs it more, so is more eye catching. I think Roberts will shoot more without Amad so we will see, reckon their stats be very similar

Roberts' finishing is what lets him down. Improve that and he's a PL player all day long

Just depends whether he is suspended on pay or not , think it would be up to the club .
