Makes you wonder if we are less anxious to get a striker in than we were before the weekend. His 2 goals are maybe the reason for the delay?

Really really doubt that the delay is because of our indecision or changing minds based on Jobe's goals. Will almost certainly be out of our hands

I genuinely have no idea, which is why I’m saying we don’t need to sign more players like Ba and end up in this situation with numerous “wonderkids” sat on the bench not being able to get the game time they need to improve.

Imo

or if they don’t go straight in they at least have that experience to be able to make a difference when they come on but we aren’t hindering their progress by leaving them out.

I'm still struggling with this tbh.

"... we need a few players who have a decent amount of seasons at this level or higher under their belt and improve our starting Xl."

Surely if we sign a few players like that, to sit on the bench or nudge current first teamers onto it, that's three or four like Ba who won't be making any progress ... plus a lot of money on fees, agents and wages.

As the club has done brilliantly with a succession of young lads, who've developed quickly, I just don't see a problem tbh.

Has to be Dack who drops out on current form

Not sure about Dack dropping out mind, I'd start the same team even if we were to sign a striker before the next game but I think Dack could be excellent with a striker in front of him.

Either way it will be good to have that selection headache and in some games Dack plus a striker will be more suited than Jobe and a striker etc.

Really want to see Dack and Hemir on the pitch at the same time - not sure why it hasn't happened yet.

Sheff Utd have agreed a fee with Villa for Archer. I wonder if that might free up Jebbison for a loan...

Apparently the fee is £18-19m as well. Its another indication of how much Stewart's injury has ****ed us and people can talk about poor planning all they want, but the club had expected to either be bringing in £15m+ for Stewart, or still having Stewart. Rather than neither.

Jebbison would do for me mind. Cracking prospect that lad and works his bollocks off.

We are scoring goals its keeping them out we need to be concentrating on, the CDM is more important in my humble opinion. The added protection might just help us shore the defence up, we have too much attacking talent not to score goals.

I think we need an experienced defensive midfielder, and the attacking options can be young promising players.

I'm not sure it's that simple. Jobe only looked decent when he moved up front, but if we sign a striker that position will no longer be available for him. I think Dack is probably the better AM, currently.

I agree. Dack with a proper striker in front of him will be the most effective and I think Jobe is better suited to the Ekwah role and not necessarily a starter, either. He knows how to use his size and regains possession really well. If he already has those strengths at 17, I’d hate to see them wasted in the 10 role where he needs a lot more development imo. Seemingly that’s his ambition though and I’ll support the decision for him to take that route because he’s going to be a great player regardless, I just think he could make an impact for us a lot quicker alongside Neil.

Not sure if Johnson Clark Harris is someone I'd want in the club. He's got attitude issues doesn't he?
I have advocated for him in the past. I think we would score 20 in our side no problem. Others say his attitude is iffy and if that is the case I wouldnt be keen. We have a good thing going with team spirit.

I suspect this is all nonsense to be honest. As much as I might think he is a good fit playing wise, I cant see the club going down this route at all. Coule have done it months ago if they wanted him.

I work with a lass who knows Clarke-Harris. She said that he’s humble as a footballer and he admits that he’s just a decent footballer and that there is much better players at Peterborough than him. Knows that he will never be anywhere higher than the championship.
