Why would Cairney come here? He is a premier league player and could get into a few teams there.

Unless his contract is old and nearly out, his wages would be miles away from us. Fulham paid very big in the Championship, never mind having gone up.
Cairney is a top championship player but never been convinced by him in the PL so hes def a realistic signing

Its just wages that make it a possible unrealistic transfer

I'd agree with all of that except having one player as a focal point tbh. I think the team spirit is excellent atm and one player taking all the focus wouldn't be good and, if they don't play well, or are injured, it leaves a big gap.

Just my thoughts.
Agree mate. You see it at times where a player is missing and some players have the look of missing somebody. I think we have lads here though who are stronger than that mentally. Cairney doesnt look the type of lad who would play the big star role, but who knows. Sometimes it is the fans who make a fuss about main players not being there. I remember wembley 92 goading liverpool over Barnes being missing <doh>

MOWBRAY ON LIHADJI LINKS

Tony Mowbray has spoken about surprising rumours suggesting Isaac Lihadji could be on his way to Qatar, but insists the winger is in his plans after featuring regularly in pre-season.

NOT DISCUSSED
"It's not something that I've discussed with Isaac. I have been made aware of it but as I often say, these things aren't really my business beyond being the coach of the team. "Ultimately there's nothing on the agenda about it."

SPEAKMAN'S JOB
"Kristjaan will deal with that if there's any truth in it, whether it's the case that there's no smoke without fire I don't know."

NO DEFINITIVE ANSWER
"I can't sit here and give a definitive answer on that, to be honest."

McGeady was the worst for a while ...

... the team seemed to just give up if he was missing.

Actually I agree. It did come across a bit like we need a big superstar. But I do think we need one or two experienced men in front of the defence who can do the dirty work when required. The balance is just a little bit too much towards flair atm.
I’m sure whatever we get it will be brilliant.
