Dack is an interesting one, seems a decent player and his stats for last season were pretty good. He would bring some needed experience if he can stay fit.

It’s a strange one based on Mowbrays comments last year, saying he doesn’t fit the profile and finances would be difficult for us.

Surely he can’t be on that much! Wonder if that’s changed now he is a free agent as I doubt we would pay more than we should these days.

I try never to get too caught up in the hype surrounding younger players, too many disappointments over the years, but I have to say that Chris Rigg is the most exceptional talent I've ever known SAFC to have in his age group. He could be anything in 10 years time.
I'm really excited about this kid. He looks like he has everything.

We'll have to use him very carefully indeed to keep the top clubs from taking too much notice.

If the Club protect him well, and we offer him a decent contract in due time, he has the potential to become a Sunderland legend already.

:emoticon-0102-bigsm If he's good enough, and strong enough,to play,he'll play. The top clubs will already be well aware of him.

I don’t post over there now, I can’t keep track of any thread it all just turns into a bitching session or someone makes a spelling mistake that gets pounced on and de-rails the whole thing, minefield of ****e when you just want some info :emoticon-0102-bigsm
It used to be my go-to place for around 20 years. Was there at the start of the current version of the board when I was living away just before/during the 2002 World Cup. There were some great posters there over the years, few of us did a meet up for the Charlton game when Wilkinson was manager. Over the years the original posters got older, the next generation came in and it turned into the current cess pool where every other poster was "rattled" after other posters demanded "proof" of the opinions they held. Every thread gets hijacked by the usual suspects stirring the pot and I finally asked them to delete my account a couple of years ago.

I wouldn't worry at the minute marra, this window has a while to go yet.
It often happens that some fans get disproportionately itchy when they can't see anything happening and the rumour mill is in full swing. All of a sudden it's speculated that we can't bring anyone in as we won't spend,we can't agree new contracts with existing players, this or that player is unhappy and wants to move and as each day ticks down some can get feverish about it. This regime has an excellent record so far in the transfer market and has built a very capable, exciting squad.Of course,it requires some strengthening, but there is no reason to suppose that won't happen. They're not going to abandon their current strategy on the evidence of a few malcontents on here or over the road.
Everyone was rightly congratulating the club on bringing 4 in before we even returned for preseason but I must admit I was thinking that it would cause an issue with the fans and their insatiable want for additions later in the window as we would then have an inevitable quiet spell whilst we weren’t bringing anyone in.

Of course he's in it for the money - he's not here because he's a massive lads fan. His investment will increse 10 fold once we get to the PL

however

He's spending money and improving the club/team whilst he does it. This is compared to the shyster asset strippers who bought the club with it's own money, and the Texan Billionaire who had no idea how to spend money

I know which model I prefer. If KLD sells us in 5 years time for a massive profit, leaving us as an established, well run PL team then I will have absolutely no complaints

I'd love to know what Dreyfus' long term plans are, are Sunderland a practice team before he moves back to France long term or does he intend to stay here indefinitely? Either way he'll be around for a while yet and the transformation has been incredible.

As you say it's not about sentiment for him (not yet anyway) he's laser focused on running the club as a successful business.

No keeping mentioning your worries as every time you do we seem to get some news lol
Have you seen anything of Mayenda?

I did do a search and couldn’t see that you’d commented on him, apologies if you have and I’ve missed it.

Looks like Mayenda is on his way then, which gives us another option up front to complement Hemir.

I can't see another striker coming until the RS saga is sorted one way or the other, as we have all said it needs resolving sooner rather than later so the club can react accordingly

He isn’t a striker. He’s a left footed winger from everything I’ve just seen on WyScout. Taking an educated guess, he’ll replace Lihadji who will get the green light to go to Qatar

He said he's here for the long haul so I imagine at least another 5 seasons.

Remember he's learning About us at the same time especially about our potential.
Bet he can't wait to see us run properly in the premier league

He isn't the only one, would be the first time! We have been a premier league club but never a properly run club! I get a feeling we will do it right under KLD.
