Slow and steady for me in the transfer market, we live in a society that want it now and can't wait.
We're not doing that badly with what we've got and have added height and craft in the lads we've picked up so far.
Yes the striker department in possibly the final piece of the puzzle but I've said elsewhere on here we aren't shy in scoring goals and I've every faith the club will sort it out by the time this window closes.

Personally for me , its time to let the LND go and tell him so. The all out effort from the team should be to recruit two proven strikers and it will be at a cost. That approach is not to the detriment of what is the ultimate goal of self sustainability. If the club ARE looking for promotion to the PL, they are going to have to stump up at sometime in future for players.. Buying players to develop only get you so far.

Centre Forwards command the biggest fees for a reason, which is why they get paid the big money, I get we have a wage structure but it will mean we cant hold onto our best players for long. Some people wont be happy but its the model and it wont be ripped up for the sake of one player.
My thoughts are simple, let him go for as much money as we can, if he really wanted to stay he would have signed the contract, we have had far too many players here for nothing more than money over the years and I dont want players like that here anymore.

I'd say 100% that the club want to go up.

I'd also say the current team is better than the one relegated from the PL that included the likes of Love, Manquillo, Ndong, Pienaar, Honeyman, Anichebe, Lescott, etc. Ballard is already playing better than Kone and O'Shea were in that season.

I'm happy with things are but I do believe we'll spend more if the players are right for us.

Christ ! Theres some utter dross in amongst that lot....

Are the lads and coaching staff all back in The Academy today or is it a day off? Hoping when we all get back we will start seeing more concrete moves in and out...

Thanks, I’ve nearly threw up reading those names!

Was it injuries that cost this lad or lack of motivation to come back from them? He looked like he was going to be good once he got a bit of fitness then got injured again. He seemed young for that to be pretty much the end of his career.

Just couldn’t get round the injuries, his size really ****ed his knees and such.

Was a beast at times still loves the club often pops up commenting on the socials.

Shame really.

Are folk expecting us to sound £15 million on a player like?

Cos I certainly don’t expect or even want that. It’s beyond our men’s and we just been there.

I’m not arsed about spending that kind of money, it’s unrealistic - I just want us to utilise the loan market wisely. I know others want to develop our own players but after seeing Diallo’s impact last season (and Simms to be fair) we’d be stupid not to bring in a few.

I know I'm probably been over optimistic, but do you reckon they may reveal a marquee signing this week, before our weekend game at home. Certainly boost the attendance. Ok I admit I've had too many JD's so I'll have a hangover later. That's the last you'll see of my optimism this season, I'll go back to the normal pessimistic match day post and predict either a draw or defeat, last time I predicted victory we lost 6-0 to Bolton lol

If they do it will have nothing to do with the home game lol. If they sign a marquee player they'll reveal him, if they don't they won't :emoticon-0148-yes:

I remember when we put him on the wing against Hull I think it was.

He absolutely obliterated their full back (might have been Elmo). Just couldn’t knock him off the ball.
