Im still being told AN wants him at Stoke and Ross has had his head turned. I believe this person as a proper ITK

I don't have anyone giving me information any more, except one journalist who's not that interested in UK football.

I've asked about Stewart and they nothing apart from gossip you'd see on Facebook.

The only thing they said was that Stoke's style of play would perhaps suit Stewart better. At Sunderland he'd be expected to play the short quick passing game and his first touch and balance aren't always great.

Stoke is long diagonals, crosses into the box and balls over the told which Stewart likes ...

... could he be thinking he'd be uncomfortable in a side playing 'modern football' and being overshadowed by a bunch of kids.

It's a thought.

I’m basing it on what I see. Let’s not forget loads of ours said he was **** when we signed him, despite a debut goal.

Hopefully we can find another, but would you be taking that gamble when we have one here and are genuinely in reach of the PL?

I was one of them asking for Wyke to be dropped for him, and that was when Wyke was scoring goals.

He's a great grafter, but I'm confident the scouting setup can find a much better finisher than RS.

He seemed to fit in nicely when he was banging on goals last season and when fit this season like :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Obviously not saying he's as good or we're Man City but people said Haaland wouldn't fit City's style either.... when actually having alternative options to how you break teams down is only a positive.

Many games this season we've massively missed Stewart stretching defences and also missed having that out ball and someone to hold it up etc. We learned to cope without him but it's madness to suggest he doesn't fit in here, we had an obvious Stewart shaped hole in the team all year.

Aye wasn’t suggesting you were one of them mate.

I’m with you though, I do trust the recruitment, and as Smug post there says, does he work with how we now play? Can he adapt to that.

Its all wait and see but as it stands I’d still sooner he stays.

That's all true but its fair to say we adapted our play, after Stewart, and scored a lot of goals.

I'm sure we'd play to Stewart's strengths, at times, but perhaps not as much as he wants.

a way to look at it is

we want him back
he wants to come back
we've been excellent for his development
he'll hopefully be in a team fighting for the league

you could loan him to a prem team who's just been promoted who's very likely be struggling every week

give him us back for a year go up, we then might be more tempted to give them the money the want if the were to sell

if not the will have a guaranteed prem loan at a club who he's already clicked and loved at with another year's experience under his belt

I'm sold!

Clarke working hard keeping himself in shape...

That outside of the boot finish is quality.

I'll be gutted if he is one of the ones going to fund the club. Eventually he will but now isn't the time for me, the lad will only increase in value.

All this is a far cry from what we usually see from our players during their time off/summer.

Not so sure.

There were plenty of times last season when Mowbray was lamenting over the lack of a focal point.

I think he'll make a world of difference, especially at the SOL where teams sat last season knowing we'd have to pass through them, as we couldn't just lump it in the box. With Stewart there, it'd bring another dimension to our game.

So will I mate, the lad is top quality.... but the position we are in now is....is it 25 or 30m etc. A far cry from where we have been over the last decade or more. I thinknwe have only made a profit on about 5 players in that time or something like that. I think we will get one more season out of Jack.

Yeah at home is for sure where it cost us, where people sat back and suffocated the flair players.

We won a few home games when Roscoe was fit, and he played a part in that.

We got pinned in a lot at home and again, Ross stretching game meant teams have to keep 1 or 2 back creating space.

Strong argument on the flip that away, better without that element, the headline results came on the road, without Ross.

What we didn’t have for the bill of the season and a the option to change

I agree with all that

What I'm saying is that perhaps Stewart feels Stoke's style would suit him better ...

... or is having that put I.his head by the agent.
