My life long second team mate had a lot of family in Mary Hill and spent a lot of time up there working in the early 80s Only team in Glasgow
If you want to go to heaven when you die. You should wear a thistle hat and thistle tie. You should wear a thistle Bonnet with f**k the old firm on it if you want to go to heaven when you die

Mind you was up there to see them play Celtic for the first time in ages couple of years ago and they have the scariest bloody mascot
Magic post mate. I went a few times when Ken Bates owned them. Used to go to a pub near the ground, had massive thistle flag behind the bar, and it was brilliant. Cant remember the name, but remembered the heavy. I was a daft bairn from England, but they made me feel really welcome.

There’s another side to us looking to get top market value - I think that you’ve got to consider how the player feels. If we turn down a bid of say £16 million and Clarke ends up staying, he could be unhappy as it might look like a good offer in his/his agent’s eyes. We could be seen as stopping a player moving to the PL and progressing. Others already here and potential future players would take notice.

The club may have partly attracted players here with the promise that we won’t stand in their way if they progress quicker than the club and an opportunity to step up comes along.
Only my opinion but I don’t think a relegation battle with Burnley is a step up

Why would he agree to that. Get paid well only if you play well or get paid well every week somewhere else
That's right he could wait it out but the injury may well hamper him and he may get injured again and then where would he be. Every negotiation has plus and minus points attached, as it stands there are probably a couple of suitors for his signature but they will be wary because of the injury and will most likely have other options in the pipeline, he may be fit in next 6 to 8 weeks and pick up where he left off and score a hatfull of goals and leave for next to nothing in January or for free next year. Or it could go tits up and he is left with nowhere to turn. I don't know if his contract is still on the table, if he is turning it down, if ghe club have revised contract or if he wants to stay or go all I am saying is if we get him under contract then it will cost clubs more to buy him if he is still as effective so offering some middle ground may not be a bad idea. It may benefit him or it could benefit the club or maybe it may benefit both who knows.

There is a romance in football club names on Scotland. Maybe the Gaeilic influence? I have no idea to be honest. Heart of Midlothian - tremendous name. I used to stand on the fulwell when the Rangers Celtic went up shouting Hearts at the top of my voice, without any reason for it and lads looking at me and wanting what I had been drinking.

There was a time when Scottish football was really interesting. Used to get the Sunday Post to read about it, but only after I read Oor Wullie like.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle with one of the great all time sports headlines. John Barnes sacked pretty much straight after.

Could have been Munns Or maybe the star and garter great pub frequented by the players for years Turned into a bit of. A Celtic bar now but some great vids on you tube when it was a proper Jags pub worth a google Thistle was a great community club Used to drink in a bar called the Doublet in early 80s bloody awful bar but they had a couple of season tickets behind the bar used to share among the locals. Tickets were always brought back. Happy days

Just watched the highlights from yesterday think we are looking a lot physically stronger than last season Only highlights but first time I’ve seen Hemir. Looks like he’s going to be a real favourite Raw but he was bullying defenders and looks v good with the ball at his feet.

I was suprised how big the new lads were when i saw the warming up. Hemir is massive, Jobe looks strong and Triantis is as well. And that was without Batth getting on the pitch. We definitely look to have addressed the physicality issue of last season.
