Rangers are his boyhood club right?

If that’s where he wants to go I can accept it, the lad doesn’t owe us anything in my mind.

Hopefully he stays but… Que Sera Sera
Don’t underestimate how big a draw Rangers are to anyone Scottish. We happily take the mick about quality of the league but you are also pretty much assured European football every year. Will also boost his chances with Scotland national team. Been up here 25 years and the two big Glasgow teams have supporters in every corner of the country.

I'm only interested in players that want to be here and want to play for the shirt, thankfully we have 25 plus of them

I agree with the sentiment. That said, he has a contract and he's perfectly entitled to see it out and judge what's on offer when it ends. I wouldn't begrudge him doing that, he's been great for us. The only thing that would sour it, for me, is if he did something like refuse to play or clearly wasn't trying...doesn't seem the type to do that and it would be counter productive for his career anyway. I'd keep him until his deal ends...he didn't cost much and could be a hugely important player this season.

Fair points and we'd all like to see a fit and firing Stewart, but the nagging doubt is how committed he will / would be if he's set on moving and not signing a new deal

No disrespect to other Scottish teams but there’s not much else to support except the big two from Glasgow

I struggle to see where he will go, especially if he’s out till end of September
He won’t go anywhere before January unless we are prepared to accept an essentially nominal fee. If we are that would suggest we think he’s not going to be the player he was before injury. If he does well up to January he’ll have loads of interest and can choose where to go. If he’s scored goals and goes to another English club he would probably bring in as much of a fee as he would this summer anyway.

If its 20% like has been reported then out of 15 million, they get 3 we get 12 minus the 3 million outlay leaves 9 million profit.
That's just going off numbers reported, don't think any of us actually know the real figures
I think that the sell on only works on profit. So if our full outlay on JC was 3 million and we sell for 15 million then the 20% would be on 12 million so Spurs would receive 2.4 million not 3 million. But
If we're offered peanuts in January we may as well keep him ...

... if we're promoted he'd be begging for a new contract.
I would just tweak his contract and incentivise it by offering him the reported 20k per week but if he manages 20+ goals in the season then his bonus will be to double his wages for the campaign. If he is confident of his fitness and form then we are all winners.

Would that be Partick Thistle and Partick Thistle u21s
I have a soft spot for Partick Thistle. I remember collecting the Panini stickers and getting the Foil badge with the name Partick Thistle on it, and a picture of a thistle, and thinking it was the best name ever for a football club. They also produced Alan Hansen, my idea of the perfect centre back. Have been to see them a few times as worked in Glasgow from time to time.

Well, Stenhousemuir aka The Warrior's has got to have some credence?
