I struggle to see where he will go, especially if he’s out till end of September
I reckon he's off to Rangers.

He's got no intention of signing a new contract here, can sign a pre contract with Rangers in January and I doubt any club will gamble on him till he's fit.

He could have been an absolute legend for us, but is chasing money

Stoke will be paying big wages to the two strikers they've just signed (Wesley and Mmmaee). Dunno how much Wesley cost but Mmaee cost 4 mil euros. I can't see them trying to buy Stewart this window.

Mowbray said Stewart told him end of September as his return date but also said he hasn't checked that with the physios. Could well be October or even November by the time he can play. December by the time he's match fit.

I just can't see anyone buying him this window. it would be madness to offer him £20k or more a week on a long term deal until a club know more about the extent of his recovery + fitness.

I agree with this and think he will be at Rangers. He will recover from the achillies injury but will pick up a "strain" or a "knock" here and there that will keep him out until Jan then sign a deal with Rangers.

I still think we’re way short currently. A decent squad with the majority being young lads. Not confident for the season ahead. Felt the same last season though and I was surprised at how well we done - hopefully the same again.
Hopefully you are wrong again mate lol

Id disagree that we are 'way' short at the minute (however respect thats your opinion), as i still feel our starting line up is dangerous and will be a match for most teams in the league

We def need more depth in certain positions tho (GK and in the forward areas being the most important areas).

The fact we had just a young team last season you hope that each of the lads kick on this season. Thats the great thing when signing young players, they should in theory get better season on season.

Obviously clarke leaving would be a blow but ill just wait n see what happens as weve been here several times during this summer already

Stewart will stay with us as i agree with others no team will take a risk on him now when he might not play much before January

Always nervous for a season starting but its def a nervous excitement on what this team could become

It feels inevitable, he will sign a deal with them in January and they might offer us peanuts to do a deal then.

Beginning to think it would be worth considering just paying his contract off and getting shot

If we're offered peanuts in January we may as well keep him ...

... if we're promoted he'd be begging for a new contract.

I know weve been linked with Cannon but saw the striker that everton were wanting joined Atalanta yesterday

Wonder if we had been interested in that Danilo who’s gone to Rangers. £6m might have been too much for us but he’s only 24, wouldn’t say he’s prolific but gets goals in the Dutch league.

If Clarke does go, I wouldn’t mind us bringing Philogene in on loan from Villa, he was at Cardiff last year. Looks good in this USA tournament. I think he would give us the time to really consider where to spend the Clarke funds.

I'm starting to get really irritated with the ongoing saga of Ross Stewart's contract. The club plucked him from relative obscurity in the Scottish leagues and gave him the opportunity to excel at one of the biggest clubs in English football and this is how he repays us?

The whole thing leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.
