Model doesnt mean we need to role over if we think hes worth more....get its about not putting players off signing long deals here if they think we will trap them

I wonder if there is a sell on clause to take into account? You would expect there to be maybe 20% due to spurs IF we sold Clarke.

IF we sold him I'd like to see at least a clear £15 million plus after the sell on clause is paid.

Thing is if its 20% then we get 12 million I'm sure our initial outlay was around 3 million which gives us a 9 million profit, don't get me wrong I think he's worth more and certainly dont want to lose him but the club may look at it as we've had him for 12 months on a permanent deal now if we cash in we have enough to bring in 3 Jack Clarkes

As you say I think it all depends on the structure of the sale, if its 15 up front with a sell on clause that may be a better deal than 20 in instalments

Possibly mate, mind you I'd rather we kept him for at least this season.

Going to be an interesting few weeks with incoming and possible outgoings

It won't be a 9 million profit, as I think spurs have a big sell on clause, although I could be wrong

You need to factor in the rise in cost for standard players over the last 12 months as wellas the sell on clause. Seems like bang average players are going for over £3m these days.

This is why we will be asking for a large amount probably closer to £20m. And that’s exactly the right thing to do.

Replacing someone of Clarke’s calibre would likely cost way more than £3m
