I like Embleton he is technically excellent but has always sat back a bit and waited for things to happen. He needs to learn from Pritchard who is always trying to impact on the game and make something happen. Shame Embleton got injured I think Mowbray would have got the best out of him. Still might

It isn’t but without Stewart and Amad we are guaranteed a lot less of them so we need more finishers in our side. I get your point though. Out of those two i rate Pritch much more but of Embletons flashes stopped just being flashes he’d be valuable to us, but I think Ba and Bellinghams athleticism will give them the nod over time. Maybe we should keep one or both until January to give the other two a bit longer to get up to speed. I’d suggest though if we are going to add another Amad/ some added quality though both might have to get moved on.

For me, Pritchard is most effective coming on at 60-65 minutes.

Hoping the Ross Stewart stuff is wrong. I thought, based on the injury, he'd be here until Jan at least. We get off to a great start, he gets back to his usual standard, we're playing great stuff, full houses home and away, Stewart is banging them in left and right and by the time January comes the penny drops for both him and the club...new contract.
I get the frustration around the situation... but, you know, he's really, really ****in good. If there is any realistic scenario that involves us retaining him I hope that is what transpires.

Pay him more money, the club needs to stop being tight.
If he leaves and scores a shed load of goals for another championship club who beats us to promotion...we will look very foolish!
100% wrong. You cannot be held to ransom by 1 player
It's not being tight it's been responsible. We can only pay what we can afford to. You give in to Stewart then other players will want comparable wages. Before we know it our wage to turnover will be getting towards 100%.

Spot on post I think. Pritchard is always looking to be involved. Whether he is ratting around their deep players or picking a pass and speeding things up a bit. Embleton can be a bit passive but then things happen when he is on the pitch. He is two footed and can finish. I know why we are comparing the two, but they do play a similar position in quite different ways.
I feel a bit for Embleton in terms of his development. Did really well at Blackpool and a perm move might have seen him really push on. Coming back here it has been a bit stop start with managers coming and going and his injury. I thought he was really pushing hard at his game when injury struck. I would love to see where he is a year after Mowbrays development. I still think there is a lot of improvement in him, personally. Whether we are now pushing higher faster is another question I suppose. He is a championship player for me, no doubts, might come down to how much game time he wants as it doesnt look at the minute like there are many open spots in the 11 and the way Rigg is going I wouldnt be surprised at all if he is top ahead of a lot of the more attacking midfielders by Christmas.
I don’t think anyone knows that is the case. Pretty sure the offered deal would make the lad one of the highest paid players at one of the best setups in the country, not just in the championship.
I’d rather a player left than we break the wage structure after how close we came to going into administration a few years ago. Nobody is worth that risk.
And what if he leaves and doesnt score goals and has loads of injuries, the club would look brilliant
Giving players whatever wage they want got us into league 1, so im happy if the club are 'tight' as long as they look after the interest of our football club

We don't know what he was offered, but he sat on it for six months.
It is likely, from what we seem to know that it would have been somewhere around £15k . For four years probably.
If those figures, which have been very commonly assumed, are anywhere near correct, his agent should be ashamed of himself. That was the contract that meant he wouldn't have to go looking for work, even if he never played again, after signing it. The "keep out of the warehouse" deal that every agent should tell his player to sign .
He might not get offered it again.
