Not good enough in my opinion. Rather keep Matete and Pritchard ahead of Embleton.

Elliott brings much more of a goal threat than Pritchard, which is what you need playing in no.10 role.

In two season Pritchard has scored 8 and assisted 16 all the while a division below himself according to most fans.

Elliott has mainly been played off the wing or bench and scored 11 and assisted 8.

Not bad for a local kid playing second fiddle to someone 6 year older than him.

His only downfall is his over the top tackles.

Pritchard plays nice link up football, but so does Ekwah, Neil, Embleton, Billingham, Roberts and Clark.

We need players who will get us goals.

I'd be more confident of Pritchard creating a goal.

It's not just direct assists, he moves us up the pitch and causes a bit of panic in their defence.

But the role he plays in comes with the expectation of being a goal threat.

Both good players. Both different. No need to pick one and criticise the other.

I'm not simply criticising Embleton, I just feel he isn't progressing as he should ...

... he's had chances to establish himself and hasn't.

We're bringing in midfield players who look to be better prospects imo.

Him and Pritchard will both be looking over their shoulders imo.

Harsh. The league one season under Johnson/Neil was Embletons break out season and he contributed significantly. He'd been involved in most of our championship games up until his injury.

Only way he’d sign is if we match the wages the likes of Stoke and Southampton are offering.

It’ll mean we are financially gambling on promotion and making it close to a must - similar to West Brom now (who are apparently financially buggered).
We have no idea if he has even been offered anything by stoke or Southampton

I have a feeling Embleton's best chance of playing at this level is at Sunderland ...

... I don't see anyone thinking he's the answer to their midfield problems tbh.

He just doesn't seem to be dedicated or focused enough, shame as he has talent.
Yeah I agree he has talent, but I always find him very inconsistent, he's either very good or non- existent in a game

He would just get on with playing football, and hopefully score plenty of goals.
While getting paid very little. Which is amazing value for us but something he wouldn’t want to do so cheaply for another 12 months. It adds pressure onto him to sign if you ask me and if he’s fit and taking us towards the top two won’t he be tempted to sign a deal that may get him more now while he plays, a premier league salary in 12 months and some kind of fair release fee if we don’t make it. I don’t think we should just sell unless we get a ridiculously high fee like plus 10 million
