Not sure I'm buying into this one. The lad will be playing Europa League football next year, it feels like a lot to give up to move to the Championship.

****ing hell. Lee Johnson has a high opinion of himself. It's a wonder we managed to survive for 140 years without him

A lot of foreign lads see the championship as a great opportunity to get a PL move, or get to the PL with that team

He did improve us tbf to him. We had Parkinson beforehand ffs.

Johnsons major issue was being unable or willing to recognise the flaws in his system where we were so gung-ho we were unable to defend as the young lads like Doyle and Hoffmann were so exposed. For me thats why he could never get anyone promoted. We did play some good football as an attacking side though and other than the run that got us promoted it was the best we had it in League One. Alex Neil reigned that gung-ho plan in a bit and instilled some defensive rigidity and off we went on a long unbeaten run that took us up.

I think he's not far wrong there tbh, we played good football under LJ most of the time. He had to go when he did though, taking too many batterings, but he was the first SAFC manager to have a mainly young squad.

Lee's problem here was as he admitted later, he thought his style would suit the club and the fans.
But did not take into account that most clubs saw us as the biggest scalp in the league and tried harder to beat us.

I was a fan of Johnson. I think he is a good coach, but accept he is maybe too focussed on one style of play. I think he deserves credit for our turnaround and to an extent what we are now enjoying. He signed Ross Stewart and Winchester in his first few weeks, there were no recruitement fellas then. Ross was a player he had been watching before coming here. Other players we signed that he had a big hand in were Danny Baath, Patrick Roberts and Pritch and Trai Hume. Others who came while he was in charge include Evans, Huggins and Cirkin. He also pushed Neil into the first team, gave Patterson a chance, and brought Embleton back in. He will always get a pat on the back from me for what he did for us.

Lee Johnson is an absolute weapon

500 games as a coach and not 1 promotion. Bullshit artist who talks a good game
