How many milliseconds would it take you to choose ...

... if you could go to a neutral match with either Mowbray of Russell Martin.

One seems to love the game and would be a laugh, the other seems self obsessed and anguished.

He looks like a prick mate, as he did with Dons.

He keeps ‘failing upwards’ the bloke he gets already decent teams doing ‘ok’ then gets a better job?

Baffling.

Arsenal had bid 3.5 earlier in the window. What I hear is that he is not going anywhere as him his family and his Agent are very happy at Sunderland and can see he is on a good progression path. Just hope he has a good time in Spain as I believe he is going to be Captain of the U17 during the international break.

Good to hear.

But how disgusting, how retrograde is a system where any club with change rattling around in their back pocket can just try their luck in that way? As of course happened with the young goalie, who was fourteen!

Borderline child abuse that is.

Stewart has hardly said anything of note about safc and the fans. More on Southampton and how great they are.

He can do one.
And any attempt at a 'farewell' message a la DB will be seen for what it is now, a cynical attempt at covering his back. He was good for us, but we were equally as good for him, people tend to forget that. We got 10/12m for what appears to be a perma-crock with no more than 13 games above L1 level. Outstanding business by the club. He had ample opportunity to make his case during his extensive absences and didnt. As you say, he can do one.

Probs knows he be fired sharp and bag millions in compen.

They were so poor given the players they have. Mogga absolutely schooled the kid.

Might be another Lee Johnson, can set a team up to attack but the defensive side of the game forever remains a mystery.

Certainly looked like it against us, we had to play well to keep them out but scoring was so easy.

I actually thought when he came out with the cameraman following him to applaud their fans, before the match "Who does this twat think he is?"

His teams play too slow IMO.

Okay when you're winning, keep the ball anywhere and play it out.

But when you're behind and it takes you fifteen passes to get to within thirty yards of the goal, everyone is always back in position. Very hard to score then, and they will have other days like Saturday, albeit not necessarily shipping five, though with that defence.....

100%. so we let them have the ball and ambushed them.

He is fortunate most of the league doesn’t have our dynamic on a quick break or they’d be ****ed.

Isn't it nice to have some grown up conversations where people don't necessarily agree but can a least acknowledge the other person position.
All we need on this lovely day is a table in a beer garden, a few beers and the football world would would be put to rights.
As it is I'll have to settle for a nice cup of tea with my wife in the garden
There are worse things in life

Looking at Mowbray's comments makes more sense if you read the whole article with the interviewer's questions.

Q - Tony do you think you're too much of a dinosaur and will always demand your own way or can you stick to the plan?

"The model? Stick to the plan, Tony? I've heard it so many times
"Yet my experience tells me we need to do this, we need to do that. But I'm not fighting them.

Q - There are suggestion you're in a running battle with Kristjaan, is there any truth in that?

"I genuinely don't storm into Kristjaan's office go 'what's going on?' I'm genuinely calm enough these days to say 'let's coach these kids, let's get on with it', and they are reacting well.'

Q - Can I ask you again about the model and whether you're ready and willing to have a team full of kids?

"The model…I sit here and say let's keep going. Somewhere down the line, if we lose three or four on the bounce, I will say 'what do you want me to do? These are young boys, inexperienced, and the crowd might turn against them a little bit and there are a few moans and groans'.

Q - Tony, can I ask you about the model again.

"Ah, f**k off man!"

Yeah but your interesting quotes, when taken away from the whole thing make it seem more negative than it is. Context makes a big difference
I disagree because the quotes are not mutually exclusive - you can analyse his comments about the model without having to reference his comments about Pritchard for example.

I could say I think Mowbray is a lanky prick with a stupid accent, but he is a good football coach. The 2nd part of that doesn't detract from the fact I called him a lanky prick*

*I don't think that for the record, I love him
