Gestede and McCormack sold for £17m by the clubs we sold them to for peanuts.......!

I know Gestede was the roughest of diamonds but we only played him against 1 PL side in the League cup final and he gave them ****ing nightmares. I'll never understand how MM could have managed him in that game and then wrote him off as a PL striker 1 season later.

Add to that, get Kiss, Velikonja, Guerra and Joe Lewis off the books as well. Although, strangely I still think Guerra could do a job for us. We did okay with Kenny Millar and Helguson despite their advancing years. Given a chance Guerra knows where the back of the net is. Nothing against Joe Lewis either but he clearly won't get any game time.

Remote - I was just about to put up a new thread about that. It doesn't make sense unless there is something deeper going on we don't know about. Ali is part of the furniture and has stayed loyal through several regimes. I hope the truth comes out over this pretty quickly. Crazy to take this action the day before the season starts.
 
A decent player for West Brom and would also FREE which fits in with the "budget restrictions" but we need a STRIKER Russel!
 
It is a central midfielder and a striker we need.

Manga will be back soon plus there is that kid from Arsenal. Then Turner by the autumn.
 
Unless the Turner injury is worse than being reported. We do only have 2 first choice centre backs our bench lacked that option when the Blackburn aerial assault was happening. With Manga back I'd say we can manage but I do understand the logic as we're only one suspension or injury away from bare bones again.

Well if true at least he is looking at the correct positions.

Last midfielder he bought was O'Keefe and the last 2 strikers he bought were Revell and Doyle.

Hardly likely to inspire confidence he will produce any new decent players.
 
Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else on here (Utill remote posted it above this comment 5 seconds before me!! <laugh>).

Does Joe Lewis being allowed out on a season loan suggest we're keeping Marshall whatever Brom come back with? Or have they just let him go as whether we sell or not we'll need a better 2nd keeper?

Harris gone on loan too, Twitter ........(yes I know) reckons the Rantie deal from Bournemouth could be one of the 3 signings mentioned in very vague fashion by WOL.
 
Having spent the weekend in Poole, the view down there is that they want another one in, either Murray or Grabham, and then they let Rantie go. While Rantie is very quick and mobile, he is not great at finding the back of the net and not the big, mobile striker Slade said he wanted.

I believe it is the last year of Lewis' contract so we won't see him again. Should Marshie leave (unlikely now) then we would need to get in another keeper to supplement Moore and Wilson.

Just Velikonja and Guerra left to off load. The first one being like a particularly sticky bit of dog s**t on your shoe. No offence. <whistle>

Rumours on another board suggest City plan a triple palace swoop for Ledley, Hennessy & Campbell.

Certainly if Marshall goes, City need a decent keeper; Hennessy is 3rd choice at Palace, and as good as you'd get in the championship.

Ledley would do a job but hardly the dynamic attacking central midfielder needed whilst would Campbell be the marksman City crave?

I would be more than happy with Ledley, Hennessy and Campbell but surely that would blow the wage reduction policy completely out of the window.
