10.15 BST Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has reportedly told the club he wants to leave to play Champions League football, with Serie A holders Juventus poised to make a €20 million offer.

Llorente, 27, has made up his mind to reject a new contract offer and move on, according to Basque TV station ETB.

20 mil Euros? That's it??

Centre-half and right-back. Looks the real deal. Won't know if he's replaced Caulker adequately for a couple of months yet though, I should imagine.

We're not signing Miku now though. We'll have a striker in before the weekend and are hoping for a winger next week.

Most Swans want a left footed centre-half as well, we'll see.


Liverpool seem to be in disarray at the moment.

If I were Arsenal I would say 25 mil Juve for RVP thank you, come on in Fllorente, here is Santi to play with as well.
 
Oliver Kay (Times) says that Swansea want £15m and he can see LFC paying that much for him. The Dempsey deal has died down as Fulham value him a £10m.

He also goes on to say that the owners aren't likely to put their hands in their pockets now. Transfers will be done through players sales and savings (i.e. reducing the wage bill).

He should have added the pre-cursor "I THINK" to all of his statements as the truth is that he has NO IDEA what FSG will and will not do any any given circumstance.

Oh really? I thought it was done - did he go somewhere else or stay put?

I do like a centre-back that can play on the flank, means they can play out from the back a bit, good stuff then.

I wouldn't say disarray, just slow going. The Euros, Olympics and a new manager don't add up to quick business in most cases.
 
Whilst nobody can guarantee that there won't be a spending splurge as the window closes, perhaps we are seeing the first signs of a new reality in football. The global economy is in recession. The European, US and UK economies are even more recessed than most. The Spanish and Italian economies are very unstable. No wonder that all the clubs across Europe are being very very careful. Long may it reign!!!!
 
It's been a slow window.

Think we're starting to see the effect of so many recent big transfer deals - clubs are more keen on value and consolidation this summer by the look of it.

Even Chelsea's spending can be in some way accommodated by winning the CL - it's worth £57M after all.

The Euros and Olympics don't help either. Saying that, the Italian clubs have all been as busy as usual.
 
This is just getting stupid...£120 million on three players <yikes> PSG going for it!
The French club have already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva and the &#8364;45million (£35.5m) acquisition of Moura takes the spending on that trio to more than £120m

I thought T.Silva and Ibrahimovic cost €50m, that would make it a total of €95m wouldn't it...:huh:
 
I think that deal fell through, they signed silva and re started talks on Ibra and the deal was done a week later.
