Interesting. Apparently the buy back clause only applies if Yesil wants to go back? Let's see how we do this season. Hopefully Pacheco just moved up the pecking order - Suarez, Borini and Sterling/Assaidi first choices with Pacheco and Morgan to come in. I believe they've got about 70 between them in the whole squad. Suarez - 20 (got 2 already this season, 1 in the prem) Borini - 10 (Could do it, he's looked good with positioning, a bit rusty so he could get a lot better) Gerrard - 10 Defence - 10 Downing, Hendo, Shelvey, Allen, Sahin, Sterling, Pacheco, Morgan - 20 (probably more but we can round it off like that). This is of course assuming we can fix our goalscoring woes, but last weeks game gave me hope.
Fair enough but I'm not sure if Suarez has 20 in him unless he goes on a run. Allen, Shelvey and Sahin are good for up to 4 each hopefully. Hopefully Hendo, Sterling and Morgan get up to 2 goals each. Can't ask for more.
Some people are being extremely optimistic with goal scoring targets. Suarez played down the middle, which will be the case for the whole season, won't score more than 15. Gerrard might grab a few and then maybe a few more from penalties etc, so no more than 10. Borini, played out wide, doesn't seem like a goalscorer, I think he will do well to get 7 or 8. Defence scoring went downhill when Hyppia left. lucky to get about 6 during the season. Allen playing deep from now on wont score. Downing never looks like scoring and is busier player left back. Henderson will barely feature. Shelvey may get a few. Pacheco wont play, Rodgers hasn't featured him at all and he wont start now. Sterling is our best hope, but the kid is 17. I would be impressed if he got 3 during the season. Morgan is a long way off being ready and will only play Europa league now and then. Sahin and Assaidi are unknown, maybe 8 between them. I think we will struggle to get 50 goals this season. I'm also concerned about our defence happily conceding left right and centre.
If that news about Yessil having to ok a return is true then there's a little bit of good news at least. He might get more starts than we planned lol
My mum is an arm chair Liverpool fan. She has a mother to son like opinion of all our players. When she heard Adam had left she want 'What! But he's really good!'. To Andy Carroll's move it was: 'First they send Cole out on loan and now this!'. I dont mean to make fun, I just thought it was an amusing contrast to the reactions on this forum. Maybe we should be reacting the same!
When he came on against Hearts she said we were adding some good experience. Other than that she doesn't talk about him. Jamie Carragher is her favourite.
