The decline in "proper" journalism and the rise of social media "reporters", is the answer. There's so many twitter, Facebook, podcasts etc these days who act as if they're reporters, all desperate for a story or a scoop so they can be noticed and get clicks/likes that they'll do stuff like that. And some agents will be happy with that so they can get stuff out to engineer moves or better contracts for their players.

The message from ‘a concerned supporter’ to the agent was fake and just posted to draw people in, quite a few fell for it.

There are so many people, like the Mag weirdo Adam Pearson, with their own 'channels' posting day and night but 99% of it is copied, gossip or bits of information that are then exaggerated ten fold. And every one has 'a mate who has a mate at the club' where they get their information ... incredible how many mates they have who 'keep them informed'.

All of this info, regarding signings etc, comes out shortly afterwards, direct from the club, so they're posting 'deal done' only hours before things are announce officially.

It's fun, in a way, but there are always multiple posts about how close things are from people ...

... then more posts when they're closer until the posts that the club has posted the scarf shot.

It's all decent 'filler' during the close season but too many rumours insinuating 'problems at the club' imo.

Have I misread this, it wasn’t fake
