Isn't it a marvellous time to be supporting Sunderland where loads of our players are wanted by other clubs and every member of that squad would be sold for a profit.

I remember when we couldn't shift players and had to pay them to leave. Our transfer record for incoming fees will be smashed this summer, I'm confident of it. What is the current record? £24m for Bent?

Pickford was £25m rising to £30m (but that £30m probably assumes things like Everton qualifying for Champions League - LOL)

we're going to get to 1,000 pages before the window starts ( well not 1,000 but close)
It'll go well past....we've got May to go through yet, which will determine what division we're in....that'll focus our collective mind! This thread will be bananas before the window actually opens!<laugh>

Personally I’d not want him near our starting Xl for the rest of the season if Mundle stays fit. It’s not a dig at Watson but I can’t help but think players who have transfers arranged have their headspace elsewhere and won’t want to risk an injury so they’ll be playing half arsed.

Some of the people on social media and RTG are absolute bellends.

Watson goes so that’s’The Model’ kicking in and just the start of things to come. What they choose to ignore is that we turned Brighton down in the summer and Palace for Jobe, just as we’d done for Clarke.

We can’t prevent clubs from making offers or agents ‘leaking the info’ to agitate the situation …

… we’ve just bought Isidor and agreed to buy Le Fée.

If that’s what people are calling ‘a selling club’ it’s because they have an agenda, simple as that.

Speakman said we wanted to keep him and offered him a long term contract but his head was turned and if we needed to sell before he ran his contract down! The lad also went to Brighton ready to sign before a fee had been agreed in the Jan window and it's been said for ages he wanted to go there as soon as they showed interest.

If people are choosing to ignore all of that and say it's because we are a selling club then **** them and their agenda!

Tommy Watson has wanted Sunderland exit for a while, says Graeme Bailey

Watson’s move to Brighton may anger a few Sunderland fans who think that the Sunderland man may not have acted entirely faithfully towards the club that has given him his introduction to first-team football. And they might have reason to believe that’s the case after all.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey has revealed to Sunderland AFC News that the winger has in fact been looking to leave Sunderland for some time now and that the club ‘knew Watson was going’ all along, it was just a matter of when they and Brighton could agree terms.

Bailey said: “Sunderland knew Watson was going, as we know Brighton have been trying to sign him since last summer.

“Some Sunderland fans will be maybe left aggrieved that they are selling one of their top youngsters but Watson’s situation is different – he has been looking at a route out of the club for a while.”

Bailey then suggested that there’s a ‘fair chance’ Watson is loaned out in the summer, adding: “Brighton have been pushing hard and the move appeals to Watson. The summer will be a big one for him, I would say there is a fair chance he could be loaned out but he will be aware of the plan in place for him and that has been discussed at length.”

I'd say ignore the people who have an agenda against the club, and are negative all the time, but really we need to shout as loudly as possible about how good things are.

It is the only way to drown out/overpower the bullshit and change how outsiders see what the majority of fans think about the club, KLD and Speakman.

I’d say Ipswich walk this league next season.

Bizarrely, despite Southampton being a far worse side I think individually they will have more players that bigger clubs will want to take.

Leicester could go either way as seems the owners are pulling funding, but they have some great young talent.

All 3 are better than Burnley and Sheffield United.

Don't think they will tbh, don't see a squad that will hammer everyone. Promoted last time on the wave of winning l1 and next year will be totally different for them. They will lose their better players as well. Too early to say they will romp league tbh

Only think they lose Delap, Davis and Hutchinson.

They’ve already got replacements for 2 of the 3

That's exactly what I do mate, deliberately ... and some people have the nerve to criticise me for 'supporting the club'.

Anyone who uses the phrase 'happy clapper' clearly has very limited imagination or perception.

Even worse are the ones who claim we're 'settling for mediocrity' by failing to post 'I'm not settling for mediocrity' on a chat forum.

Seriously you'd think these 'realists' were storming the SOL the way they talk.

All they're doing is constantly saying 'I'm not renewing my SC' ...

... what they don't realise is that most people would be pleased if they'd not show up with their endless whining <laugh>

My take too. I think momentum was significant for Ipswich last season. They rode the crest of a wave. I remember well the first game of the season at our place and for 30 minutes they were dizzy watching us ping it about. Then they got a couple and held on somehow. I often wonder had we put them away would their season have been different. They adapted a bit to the pace and possession and kept the wind in their sails. This time they will need to recreate momentum. As much as I respect Ipswich as a club, they dont really have the sort of home venues a Leeds or a Sheff Utd can create. Jury is out.

If Leicester put a proper coaching team in they would be my pick to be best of the relegated sides. But I am odds with many. I dont think we will see a top 3 like this season next season. It may well be greater depth down at 7th and 8th, but I dont predict 3 clear sides.

Agree momentum is the key. Birmingham coming up will be interesting.

Somebody else who can mind read exactly the thought process of Watson and all those round him.

To be fair he's right that Watson doesn't want to wait until the end of the seaon before he decides whether or not to leave.

He's right that he does want away and he's right that the division we're in doesn't affect his decision..

In fact he appears to be correct with it all.

Is he right about the highlighted yellow bit? If Watson has said that I have missed it. He isnt correct with it at all.
