They may lose their manager though. Some clubs will ignore this season , assume he learns from it and remember his previous two
I expect McKenna to go but I don't see any openings currently, maybe Spurs but I think they'll go more proven. I think Delap will definitely get a big move and then Hutchinson will go also but outside of that I think the squad stays together. I think they'll go up.
I played against McKenna once when he was at Spurs as an under 16. He’s got history with them. So might be a good fit
For me, it's all about attitude. Luton came down with effectively the same squad, but clearly the attitude and application isn't there. Maybe last season (and the one before) was a fluke and they have found their natural level, but to see lads who gave the PL a real good go suddenly struggling in the Championship tells me it's not about ability and tactics. It's all about how these PL players feel about a slog in the league below - how many of them will be itching for (and failing to get) a move away? Will be interesting to see
Some of the people on social media and RTG are absolute bellends. Watson goes so that’s ‘The Model’ kicking in and just the start of things to come. What they choose to ignore is that we turned Brighton down in the summer and Palace for Jobe, just as we’d done for Clarke. We can’t prevent clubs from making offers or agents ‘leaking the info’ to agitate the situation … … we’ve just bought Isidor and agreed to buy Le Fée. If that’s what people are calling ‘a selling club’ it’s because they have an agenda, simple as that.
Yep,one or two of their better players will be tempted away, maybe their manager too. Bouncing straight back isn't a given.
I dunno how ten million pure profit can be looked at as a bad thing, brilliant for ffp too if I understand that right, the lad wasn’t that keen to be here we’ve got a good fee to bring in lads that do want too, everyone wins
Exactly. Watson has hardly been integral to our recent progress....he's played a bit part in a handful of games at best. It's a great deal for us and for him.
they dont get that though, they claim KLD/KS dont care and are penny pinching and being tight on signings show them thats not the case, get called all manners of names for not agreeing and being a "Happy Clapper" that is ok with mediocrity. bet some of them wanted Gimli the "Energy" Drink selling tramp to takeover
My issue remains, fans saying he shouldnt play again for us. It is a barmy stance imo. We arent a selling club by any means, but we need to be careful not to be seen as a club whose fans jump on an 18 year old who leaves for his own reasons. Certainly not one who brings in big money. We may not be as attractive an academy with that sort of reputation.
Nout stranger than folk mate, I’ve not seen many be anything other than positive about this deal in fairness, makes a nice change but you’ll never please everyone, have to be mental to want to own a football club
I can be petty like that but in all honesty we aren’t blessed with too many wing options and the lad can still contribute he gets my backing while he’s here and wish him well when he goes, I think it’s a good deal for all involved and no bitterness towards him from me
We have Mundle, who’s arsed anyway? Some of our fans feel the need to have this toxic attitude toward anyone that leaves. Seen it with Alex Neil (given he’s a bellend), Stewart, Clarke.. like still singing about Alex Neil years later is embarrassing. ****ing move on. Good fee for us, player would rather be at Brighton so good deal for him too. Can’t knock him for wanting to move there they have a good track record with youngsters. We’ll be a better team singing a decent right winger with some of the money.
Isn't it a marvellous time to be supporting Sunderland where loads of our players are wanted by other clubs and every member of that squad would be sold for a profit. I remember when we couldn't shift players and had to pay them to leave. Our transfer record for incoming fees will be smashed this summer, I'm confident of it. What is the current record? £24m for Bent?
