While I understand a lot of the sentiment I called him a ****er the other day for leaving at first opportunity without even hitting double digits for the first team. Maybe ****er was a bit strong but I do think he has been a bit ungrateful to the club to not even give them a couple of seasons, club seemed to prefer this selling now. He has come through the academy and just been helped back from injury and although the club have got a decent fee in they wanted to keep him as they probably thought give him a full season even two playing first team football and we will get treble that! I very very much doubt he is going to be playing first team in the Premier league for a club in the top half of the Premier league! There is already rumours he will be going out on loan and it is highly likely that will be the case and to the championship as Brighton have likely signed him for the future. It has been suggested by media today he is aware of this so he hasn't moved for footballing reasons has he really, not immediate improvement anyway. He could have stayed here and fought it out for that left side with Mundle and he would be more likely to get a first team spot here than moving to a premier league club, he isn't even regular starting 11 here yet!

Your comment about you wanting to get away from North East at 18 cause you wanted more with all respect to you is completely different to this! I assume you wanted to get away to have better career choices and the chance to improve yourself and you opportunities. This is a 28 year old lad playing for his boyhood club, hardly moving due to lack of prospects is he? Yeah it's probably nicer down there weather etc... and closer to London so that probably appeals!

I can't see past premier league money being the biggest factor for him because everything else is too soon and he may aswell stayed here and got into the first team and then moved when he was going to be a starter for a premier league team!

To top it all it off it has been said he was advised by Ian Hart and Danny Graham ffs!

In my humble opinion this shows the difference of having the right people around you like Rigg, would Watson have knocked back the offers Rigg had before signing pro. Na he would be sat in Man Utd reserves now!
You assume wrong mate. I could have done the same in the NE, but I wanted a change. Not going into details, but the point is everyone seems to be jumping to the conclusion he wants to move for money, or football reasons. I dont think anyone, other than those closest to him can say that. I get tired easily of internet rumours becoming reality. Could be lots of reasons Watson wants to move clubs. It is mad to me folk are jumping all over him for this, he could have easily done much more of a dirty on the club had he been so motivated.

As we have been all season

Watson receiving stick wouldn’t be a surprise, though
Watson getting stick isn't everyone behind the team though is it?

If RLB and the coaches decide he can play then he deserves our support

Wonder if aleksic will get watsons minutes out wide now? he’s come on there a few times and probably be in the clubs thinking to focus on his development given he’ll actually be here next year

I can't think of many tbh.

And certainly none he couldn't have moved for in another season or two.

Going to be interesting who starts / makes the bench / comes on.

We have to trust them, they have earned it imo

Its been known a while ain't it?

Or else the interest would have at least died down.

They've wanted him since he was 15 year old.
I think 15 is about right. Others clubs too watching him since then and wanted him out of the academy.

Personally looking forward to watching him. He is not the finished article, but in 2/3 years could be seriously good. Brighton know what they are buying. The 20% is significant sell on. Really smart by the club.

Get the play off place locked in Saturday then we will start to see changes imo, not wholesale changes but I think there will be abit more experimenting
No idea If we will experiment mate, I'm just going to enjoy the last few games and then the nerves of the play offs.

As I've said numerous times on our day we can beat any team in the league

You arent him tbf. This angst you and others are showing is a really poor look imo. On the one hand you dont want him in the team, on the other you want him to show some loyalty. Odd stance.

Watson will get my full support whilst he’s on the pitch. Which seeing I won’t be at any of the games, doesn’t really matter. But for what it’s worth at least :D

It's a big dilemma, will he be committed? You have to hope so. Is it a kick in the nuts he's leaving? Yes it is.

If he scores the winner at Wembley I will happily sing he's one of our own, because no matter what, he is one of own

I can only speak from experience. Young players like him will give everything if picked. Mind you, if they get grief from the stands their confidence can be knocked. I have zero qualms with playing Watson. It is still to be shared why this news has been shared. It cant be our side.

I hope the fans back him, despite us all struggling with his decision.

However it seems some have already decided their decision

I won’t give him any stick as I don’t care that he’s leaving, loads to prove yet

Do believe some will though and won’t particularly have a problem with it
