I think Ballard has earned an opportunity but I honestly would see him O’Nien and Alese as third, fourth and fifth choice with us needing to bring in two capable of immediate first team duty. I also think Seelt and Hjelde have potential so wouldn’t really want to sell yet but perhaps loan them out. Competition needed at RB and LB too.
Raw as tits. But he is so aggressively attack minded I love watching players like that. Left footed, quick. We could maybe get him with a buy back to ‘Chelsea group’
One big advantage we have when trying to attract next level players (for us…£20m or so) is they will almost certainly get plenty of games. Take Le Fee for example. How many teams would he be a certain starter for in the Premier League apart from us. The top teams have mega expensive players all over. The middle lot have squads full of top players. The few down with us like Burnley and perhaps Leeds already have plenty of ELFee quality players. Players come to clubs to play, we can offer that. We might not be able to compete wages wise but if it’s money driving the player he’s probably the wrong one for us anyway. We have about 5 or maybe 6 starting positions up for grabs. The likes of Neil, Roberts, Rigg, O’Nien and Cirkin would likely be on the bench.
Lots of talk of Hendo coming back I’m in the yes camp so long as he’s cheap wages wise he will be immensely useful. But he’s not worth a boat load of money
Someone put it a great way on Twitter and said Steve Bould came to Sunderland when he was older and less fit than Hendo and look at the job he did for us.
Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea? Hardly featured this season, especially in the league. Adds great balance being left footed. Good player
