Nigel Adkins tells me "we will be bringing one if not two centre-halves in, maybe a full-back. because we do need to improve". #saintsfc
 
Problem is it's not just a matter of "We only have to pay compensation for training costs etc" as we also have to outbid any other interested parties. That's why we couldn't just let the league work out the appropriate compensation either.

Actually you can't outbid other clubs because anyone can talk to him and have the fee decided by a tribunal later.

I think Sir Alex was impressed with him after the FA Cup game, Fergie has a great record of getting young promising foreign players- including from Ireland and Scotland, but does not buy players from the English lower leagues. You would think his son would recommend a few

Interesting that we are talking about 1/2 new goalies, 1/2 new centre-backs and what we are already chasing. Could be a very interesting few weeks!
 
So from what Adkins has said, shopping list seems to be;

Goalkeeper to really push Kelvin and to compete for no1 (Butland?)+ a young keeper to be a long term part of the squad (Gazzaniga?)
Centre half to be a first team regular. Ideally with leadership qualities and Premiership experience (Curtis Davis fits the bill for me) + a young utility defender, maybe from abroad, who could develop into the real deal and will add depth (Kondogbia?)
Right sided player is surely a must as well, I wouldn't mind at all if this was someone on loan to give us a real injection of pace and quality to ensure that we have a decent season (De Bruyne, Miyaichi type)

I think these, with the possible addition of Clyne and Buttner will be more than enough for a good summers work. After all, our squad is't half bad already!

I expect Seaborne (loan), Barnard, Harding and Butterfield to all be moved on.
 
In the Player interview with SKD, they pointed out that he didn't feature on the mural on the hoardings around the training ground. He looked surprised and said, 'Yes, especially as there are two pictures of Chung.' Trying to tell him something<laugh> When pointed out that he was the only GK at Saints, he said any other keepers would be welcome and he'd have no complaints if he wasn't good enough to keep the shirt, but when pressed said he thought he was.

Kondogbia is a defensive midfielder, in the mold of Mvila. <ok>
