This makes no sense. You can leave empty spaces in the squad list that count towards the quota so there's no need to sign players like this.

Very much doubt it. Wright is a #3 keeper, which is what he'll be at City.

QPR's transfer spree has got Pompey written all over it, hope they fail if im honest.

Plus I could call their signings from my passing interest in World Cups, European Championships, and a bit of La Liga. Doesn't seem like much of a strategy to me... just buy up any available well-known players by dint of being able to pay their huge wages.
