    Not really, Stuart Taylor was there for 3 years as 3rd choice, Wright will be the same.

    BTW Taylor has the best job in the world, he is in his 30's and has only played 68 professional games, getting paid handsomely for doing nothing. Also has a PL winners medal :D

    Wright will have been signed to up the quota of English players needed in the squad. He'll never play unless there's an emergency.

    This makes no sense. You can leave empty spaces in the squad list that count towards the quota so there's no need to sign players like this.

    There's no English player quota anyway. Seems like they just wanted a reserve who didn't care if he never played.

    No such quota exists in the rules, you've made that up.

    It is possible if you wanted to have a squad in the Premier League without a single Englishman in it.

    Could the Wright transfer mean that a club like, say, us have bid for Pantilimon? He's a good keeper, very good stature and a good age and would be ideal competition for Davis.

    Either way would be a very good purchase and NA talked earlier in the window about trying to get 2 keepers and 2 centre halves in ideally.

    Gazzinga could then be loaned out with the option of a recall which would probably do him a lot of good as well.

    Very much doubt it. Wright is a #3 keeper, which is what he'll be at City.

    Plus I could call their signings from my passing interest in World Cups, European Championships, and a bit of La Liga. Doesn't seem like much of a strategy to me... just buy up any available well-known players by dint of being able to pay their huge wages.
