I have a fear that the longer we sit and wait we’ll end up with our pants pulled right down on deadline day hope im wrong

We can't do more than offer our valuation and then it's up to the selling club.

I think Sunderland are being pretty clear with other clubs and not playing games ...

... if a deal doesn't look like it's happening we can't just keep back offering more and more.

Exactly...the Grigg saga showed how it can go so,so wrong!!

Neal Maupay available from Everton

I bet he’s picking up a serious wage there. Will probably still get himself a PL move despite a poor goal scoring record in recent years.

Based purely on certainty in reporting from various sources I think there may already have been medicals for Mendy, Simic and the Serbian lad with deals almost agreed or even previously agreed but not completed as yet.

Luton Town and Hull City have joined Sunderland in making bids for Leicester City’s Tom Cannon.
The Hatters followed up an initial interest by tabling an offer of around £6 million which tops their rivals.
Hull have also made an official move while Sunderland are in but may not increase their offer.
Foxes are hoping for a bid up to £10 million but may have to take less.
Sheffield United and Stoke City are also keen but both are only currently talking about loan to possibly buy arrangements.
Burnley could make a late move if they sell Lyle Foster before the window shuts

If they are wanting 10m then we need to be looking elsewhere.

The Luton bid for Cannon is interesting considering they’ve got Adebayo and Morris already at the club…
