Just gonna throw it out there as he’s hardly been mentioned - but Al-Hammadi from Ipswich might come into our radar now that Ipswich have got more strikers. We were linked before Ipswich signed him so probably like him.

Will probably leave on loan. I reckon half the championship would be in for him.

Think he will end up at a lower end champ team where he will be first choice possibly one who play with 2 ST's

Won't want the same sub role again I wouldnt of thought and neither will Ipswich as it won't increase his sale value

I can’t see him coming here or us even being in for him to be honest.

Wolves are meant to be paying £10m for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Seems mad when they’ve already got Jose Sa at the club

I defo can see Cannon and Mendy coming here. I don’t know why but I just have this feeling about Cannon and the fact we’ve been quick with a proper bid etc. fingers crossed
More worried now foster has left Burnley.

but at the same time there’s speculation of Parker walking

I weirdly don’t think they’d target Cannon of all players but obviously who knows

let’s just hope us moving early gives us a big advantage

What happened to Sarmiento having a medical at Burnley?

He started for Brighton last night, scored too…

No doubt they can afford to bring in quality players but so much change, and apparent squad disharmony, can’t be a good thing at all.

I much prefer our approach of incremental improvement rather than squad overhaul.

It's a surefire way of knowing you're bringing in mercenaries rather than players who really want to be there.

Ipswich are ensuring they lose the admiration they had, from neutrals, but obviously don't care.

Even after seeing Burnley collapse, before their eyes, they're intent on becoming the next Burnley.

I don't think anyone really knows who owns Ipswich, not even Ipswich ...

... and to make matters even worse they have a horrible weirdo busker, who's mam dresses him, involved <laugh>

Their level of depth for a 3rd tier side is ridiculous

I’d love it all to fail mind. Never been keen on Birmingham and their fans were right ćunts down there last season.

I’ve found a lot of their fans to be like that over the years mate. Strange bunch.

It still ends up being a challenge to find the right one, though. Spend £4m on a more natural 6 and that comes with expectation to play legit first choice minutes. That doesn't really work for us right now. Or we bring in a young talent to acclimatise and then we run the risk of having parked that money somewhere where it won't impact us in 24/25. Meanwhile we know that Ekwah is capable of dominating at this level (I disagree that he has no role in the current team btw - he can develop as either 6 or 8 IMO) and he's young enough to have plenty of room to grow. Guess it all depends on if he is willing to bide his time. Don't love the idea of kicking the can down the road just 'because', though. And I maintain that the negativity around Ekwah is divorced from the reality of what he's produced in red and white - even accounting for a drop-off last season.
I totally agree re Ekwah, he was not the only one struggling last season with the upheaval and poor tactics. However if a good bid came in and he expressed a desire to leave then so be it but I would not move him on just for the sake of it.

For me personally I kind of understand the need to spend some of the in coming money but in truth I would be happy to set aside some of it to improve contracts for players that have earned it. I am thinking of DN, CR, DB, DC and there are a couple more. New players are good but securing existing assets is as important

Rigg and Ballard have signed new deals this summer
