Are we expecting a Clarke announcement today then? Would be weird going into todays game without things being signed and sealed.

TBH mate, I couldn't care less, they can put it on the scoreboard at half time for me.

Everyone knew he'd leave at some point, everyone knows he's already at Ipswich and he's now an ex-player like Stewart.

Once the whistle goes, at 3pm, Clarke will be the last thing on my mind.

There's a forum thread, elsewhere, asking everyone to sing the Clarke song on twenty minutes ...

... absolute f*ck off man, there's three valuable points at stake today and the top spot.

Ha'way the Lads!!!

Is it plausible that we are ‘close’ to agreeing a deal so have allowed medical etc but it’s not done yet?

£15million does sound low, given Stewart fee. I’m gonna convince myself we are ‘confident of agreeing a fee’ rather than we have.

More dollar. There’s absolutely nothing official to say it’s done. For all we know the lad plays today <laugh>

He has gone, not official, but no coming back from this, he was great for us, hope he kicks on again, Ipswich????? FFS

Tbh if he has had an agreement with us since June then you can understand his frustration and you can understand him getting a bit desperate. Theres one week left for it to happen and we're bringing in other targets.

I bet he hates Mbappe.

Makes no sense what they are doing like.

If he remains is he gonna be same player for them? Unless we have literally took the piss with fee then it’s just backward.

Is he a victim only new ownership group thinking ‘we will set a precedent that we won’t be bullied’, if he is that’s a dangerous game for a small club like that.

Pembele has undoubtedly looked poor, but he’s played around 300 mins across a year since a major knee injury. Worth a gamble to see if he just locked straight into performing given the promise he displayed in his early career, but now he needs to go somewhere and play 30 games. Too early to completely write him off given the circumstances but he’s not gonna get what he needs at safc this season.
Needs a loan where he plays to get his confidence back

Ive noticed that our fullbacks need to drop into CB at times, or at least have that awareness to drop into cb

Hume n crikin are perfect for that, pembele is shocking at that defensive awareness so not surprised that johnson is ahead of him
Personally I have not lost hope or expectation on Pembele. I agree about his defensive awareness but that is one of the easier things to coach, at least the discipline a full back needs. Centre backs are different. Did we give Pembele a long contract? I seem to remember we did 4 years. Would not surprise me if he develops that defensive nous this season and is a real player for us by the end of the season. All just based on his youth and very early mens career of course.

I do believe SAFC have a responsibility to young lads, particularly foreign, who we bring to the club.

I don't like to see people just say 'get rid' as if they're a pair of cheap shoes that pinch.

Bringing young lads in, making a definitive judgement after 8 games and 'getting rid' isn't likely to encourage the next one we want to bring in. It's also unfair on the player, unless he's been trouble, in my opinion. There are plenty of clubs looking for loan players and he's young enough to be properly coached.

Pembele was given a debut by PSG then a contract extension, Sadly he had almost year out with a bad cruciate ligament injury which knocked his progress and probably his confidence. Perhaps he isn't good enough but I'd like to think the new manager, who's also French, will take more than a few glimpses to evaluate him.

Aye but that particular OP a is named after the worst “comedian”in the history of comedianship and humoristology. He would probably be the best front man for Comic Relief, because that is exactly what you get from it. If you said he was a wit, you’d only be half right. Oh no that would be Harry Hill
