WTF does it matter, people were totally fixated with the word 'imminent' ...

... now it's 5,000 days since Stewart was injured and 'the 5 year plan' as if it's carved in stone and means something.

It does though. If you’re going to make a statement of intent then you should look like you’re going to go all out to back it up. You wouldn’t buy a PL club, say you want to win the title within 3 seasons then only sign players on frees. KLD has undoubtedly moved the club forward and we’re in a much better place but if you’re going to tell the fans of your lofty short term ambitions then do something to make it seem plausible.

You'd hope that we have targets lined up for whatever budget we had at a given time within the window, as @Southern A said before.

It's a risk I agree, but I personally think it's a bigger risk trying to upgrade the squad with what appears to be a small budget (which is how it should be before we sell).

I'm sure we will have targets, but I don't believe we'll suddenly disregard value, which is what makes negotiations hard for us. If we value Stansfield at £5m, we're not going to turn around on deadline day and pay £7m because we're desperate. I think value is more important to us than "getting a deal done" and I think that could cost us with a week to go.

If it happens tomorrow, that's fine, but I'd settle for Mendy and Lankshear on loan at this point rather than sell a Clarke or Hume and hope we can get something done.

Ekwah is the happy medium though. Right player to sell and hopefully the right price.

People on twitter predictably missing the point on this one. Think we should have held out for a fee as he’ll never be sold for a fee at Blackpool.

work that one out. If he’s worth a fee now then he may be worth a fee later.

the fact is nobody will pay a fee now. The best chance we have of getting anything for him is a deal like this
We should do this with a lot of low value players.

I don't understand their signings at all.

Willock is fine, but 4 goals and 4 assists over a full season for QPR is nothing special. For comparison, he made 1 more goal contribution than Ba did for us, but played 400 more minutes.

If you look past the clubs Chambers has been at, he's averaged 15 games a season over his career. He's played 30 league games once and it was 6 years ago. He's never played 35.

El Ghazi had talent, but hasn't played for a year and despite being free, he's had to drop a level to get interest.

They're one of the clubs in relegation trouble for me.
Now you've said this they'll hump us 4-1 and finish 20th

Fully agree. Also some others could go after that to get better in. Rusyn for example, and I’ll get bites here but Roberts. Only if we have upgrades on the radar.
