Can’t say I’ve seen him to be honest mate.

I think he will be going on loan, I think if we are talking about the need for more height in the squad then I’d argue the need to sign a good sized centre back to play alongside Ballard or to at least challenge O’Nien for that spot.

i suspect we won’t be signing another midfield option even if we let Ekwah go.
We will def be signing a CM if Ekwah goes - mentioned earlier today that i reckon itll be a specialist CDM

I agree about another CB, im not convinced by Alese as a CB just yet - he has the potential for sure but would rather he is used as back up to cirkin (or ahead of cirkin if hes playing wdll enough). Anothed commanding CB would be good

Wonder what the chances of getting someone like Harry Soutar on loan would be. Probably on big money but only made a few appearances last season and will more than likely be behind Faes, Vestergaard, Coady and now Okoli.

Possibly, the only issue i have with soutar is im not a massive fan of him when hes in a back 4. The best games I've seen him play are normally in a back 3

Def wouldn't be against him coming in tho if the price is right in terms of wages

Fair one mate makes sense because he’s probably going to get exposed a bit more without the 2 CB’s alongside him and neither him or Ballard are the quickest. Seems to read the game really well for such a big lad and positional play looks good whereas others of his size/stature would seem clumsy in a similar 1v1 situations to what I’ve seen of him.

O’Nien while not being his biggest fan I can still see what he brings to defence, he’s good with the ball at his feet and will throw himself around.

All of which is good but for me we need to upgrade on that if we really want to press forward and get on with getting out of this league.

Worst thing we can do is make him captain this year as then it makes it difficult to drop him if he throws a few stinkers in. Top bloke and a good defender but makes to many mistakes and think we should be improving on him.
This thing of him making too many mistakes is just a myth, his mistakes seems to get highlighted for some reason. Ballard has probably made as many mistakes as O'Nien but they don't get mentioned.

In fairness, last season, O'Nien had endless defensive partners thrown at him ...

... not to mention managers and endless tactics.

Both made mistakes last season, willing to forget about it and start afresh but definitely we need someone experienced to keep those two on their toe’s mind.

just find O’Nien’s positioning at time odd but as a counter argument what he does with the ball to bring us forward from the back is his strong point.

Think mendy still gets done? Him a quality loan and Rusyn as a 3rd option/wide forward is decent for me
I dunno mate, the post you replied to wasn't Mr saying its being delayed due to WP btw, was just saying Regis was in that boat.

I'd be chuffed with Mendy and Ugbo if that happened, or even Vipotnik/Mendy, Vipotnik/Ugbo. Like I said, the feeling is the loan market will be used for a striker, so with that in mind, we'll go out and sign someone hopefully in the next 14 days, such as Ugbo, Mendy, Vipotnik etc, then we'll relax and pursue another from a Prem club, possibly.

I really think the club should take advantage of the opportunity to own a striker like Vipotnik or Ugbo, a 15 goal season in the Championship and their value doubles.
