What are you talking about? I don't believe Mendy was over for a medical so you are barking up the wrong tree. And frankly, and i'm sure Prehab will be ok with me saying this, I think I believe genuine news reports over someone posting on not606. Also a bit rich from someone who posts anything people say on RTG on here as fact. I think we've handled the forward position badly but i'm not abusing the people who disagree with me. Fair I apologise just in a bit worried if what prehab is saying is true and it would be a a massive shame for the team to be held back again for us failing to get a striker deal over the line. just feel like if Mendy is so keen and we are interested, why delay? Especially if it’s only over one striker target that has been flirting with Wednesday all summer. Is he keen to actually come?

He's in the cult figure status in my eyes. Excellent footballer, no nonsense, consistently improving and a leader. I'd be gutted about Hume because I think he's a one that we can do the journey together with. Clarke will leave us, it's just a matter of when. Ballard is clearly an excellent footballer but I just don't believe in his character as much as I do in Hume. Value for money wise as well, we'd be getting much less for Hume. I'm not sure it would be a game changing amount.

It's a major problem, it's not just us though. Look at the championship top goalscorer list last season it's dominated by wingers and 10s. Even Szmodics isn't a proper striker. Them reports just posted there sound like Mendy will get done, not sure he's the answer but it's a start.
Think about it logically. There's 2 routes of explanation of we're actually responsible for the delay: 1) We're not happy with something in the deal. Maybe the fee, maybe some issue on his medical and we're negotiating etc. 2) We're pursuing a better target and can't afford both so are trying to hedge our bets. In either of those situations, why is what we're attempting to do negative? Of course there's a possible negative outcome but the action itself isn't negative. Or would you rather we just get Mendy so it's done, even if there's a much better option that we could get?
Reading through the last fee pages it seems that people are getting worked up over nothing. Speakman is one of a group who are involved in transfers (he is director so obviously has a major influence) but we all know that a number of factors are involved in any transfer. Have we stepped back from Mendy? Has this been confirmed by anybody other than click baits or rumour. Are we chasing Mendy? Or Vipotnic? Or are we again going on about rumour. Has anybody considered that the young guys we signed last year have now had a year to settle and may be a lot better this year as they become more settled and comfortable with their surroundings and may be given more confidence by a new coach. One of my major complaints with TM was how he dealt with Hemir after his first game, TM pretty much hung him out to dry and that was bad management of a young player who had just moved country. After moving country myself this year it is not an easy adjustment to make and I am 54 not an 18 or 19 year old. Maybe if our fans looked at what they may have to offer instead of crying about what they want we may actually start to see that things up front may not be as bad as we think. FWIW I would love us to sign a striker who is strong and can play with his back to goal as well as run the channels but I am happy with how we look at the minute. TBH I think if you were to look at squad value from when KLD bought into the club and then look at how much has been spent on the current squad versus current value then I am pretty sure we are doing very well indeed. Would I like a good striker? Yes! Will I have a melt down if we don't find the right one(s)? No!
