The stark reality about this coming season, regardless of who becomes the Manager/Head Coach, is the goals 'FOR' that we need to address more than anything else.
We have a supposed 'MODEL' which includes a group of specialists who are looking/scouting for young/under the radar, talent.
These specialists have failed badly last season to identify, or attract a decent CF. Yes, we did sign young CF's but these players did not produce the goods, for what ever reasons. We all are aware of thiis, it's perfectly obvious right?
Now let's look at the stats from last season (I Iove stats me) -
* We didn't make the play-off's for only one reason.
* We finished in the bottom half for only one reason.
Our goals conceded were'nt great, but not that bad in comparrison with some top half teams.
We had a better defence than attack, didn't we?
We have great creativity, but no end product in the final third.
Which is why you see this :-
We conceeded less goals than two promoted teams - Ipswich and Southampton.
And, on average, we were 30 goals short of those who finished in the Play-off's.
30 GOALS !!!
17 teams scored more than us.
The current defence os okay - don't lose our creativity - Invest on at least two high profile CF's...
Easier said than done though
