I would have played him more. I suspect the new lads have suffered from the daft decisions on managers.Maybe if we actually played him in his position he would know the role more. I'm not surprised he leaves his zone when he's being played as a striker, which he is not. Still offers more in and out of possession than the majority of our attacking players and it's a joke he's only been given 1003 minutes this season. We'd have more points and a better overall side if he had a similar number of minutes to Roberts, Ba, Jobe.
Whatever folk think about Mowbray he was the right coach for these young players. We would have been higher up the table had we kept him, and I understand the health issue. Had we got the next appt right they would have been better off too. Young players need a consistent message and be trusted. Mowbray was perfect for trust.
None of our players are bad players. What I would say is as a coach you need to see how players are in training. That is where trust is earned. No idea how good Adil is on the training pitch, but I do know these are bairns in a new country. Next season they may show more in training that a coach latches onto. Hope so. I like the fundamentals of Adil and he will be a good player with the right coaching. Up to him, with a new coach, to nail down a role and a starting berth. One thing is for sure, he might well have competition in those spaces. Let the best player prevail.
