I bet he learned a hell of a lot mate. Standards, training intensity, fundamentals, team ethic, what it takes to make it. Gooch wasnt the best player, but he was an immaculate professional.
Not arguing he wasn’t I love Gooch but Hume had a breakthrough season and a follow up season where he was benched wasn’t the way forward. That’s the conundrum. We definitely missed leadership but players want to play experienced or not.

I loved Gooch, but his time had come to an end here. Everyone saying this and that about him, yes fantastic servant for Sunderland bleeds red and white, which is true, but let’s be honest, he was poor at the end. Look how poor he was here when he came back up here. Same as Pritchard, In my opinion of course.

Both would still walk into our team right now.

Pritchard yes but Gooch? - Only with our current injuries. Not a chance when most are fit. His experience has been a miss mind, absolutely no doubt about that.
It would only have been worth keeping Pritchard if we were going to rest Jobe, when they both played one had to play out of position, the same reason we haven't seen the best of Adil, most his minutes he's had, have been out of position.

Pritchard was sold to early with no for thought

We have moved on massively in the last few years
However we are still way behind in our 5 year Plan
Our building has been hampered by injuries but the happens to most club we need to
Deal with all eventualities

Yeah mate
However was he not forced into corner
Nevertheless I don’t agree with refusing to play blotted his copy book
And I liked pritchard

Not judging him. Don't know the ins and outs. Heard a lot of rumours. But he forced the move. The club can't be blamed for selling him when they did. They had to.

With Seelt out for so long and Triantis doing so well as a CDM, I think we need an extra centre half (two if Ballard goes)
I was thinking exactly that mate. Hopefully Ballard doesn’t go. We need ready made replacements, cooper or cresswell could come straight in and play.

Problem is we'll never know exactly what went on. I know some on here think they know the full facts, but they weren't in on the discussions and it's all heresay.
I've said it before if Pritchard gave a totally honest view of what happened and Speakman did the same they would still be 2 totally different versions.
All we do know is Pritchard was told his contract wouldn't be renewed, then the club had a change of heart and offered him an extension. None of us knows what happened next other than Pritchard ruled himself out of contention for the next game.
If the club wanted to sell him why offer him a new contract

Dont want to get folks hopes up but sounds like Amad will be going out on loan next season

Obviously will depend on how he finishes the season but i was speaking to someone at united, senior in their recruitment team and he was saying very high chance he is going on loan next season
