Is it not a balancing act? Haggle for more and the sale goes through on deadline day. The club then fails to put the money ( or some of it) to good use. The Speakman and KLD crew pick back up and everything is negative again.

I was hoping for more, but it means **** all IF the club can get 3 future stars with it.

Hopefully someone comes in to create a bidding war late on.

Initial fee is too low for me. But aye it's still a big package that helps the model grow. But aye, it's not a surprise at all.

I honestly think they're staying up reasonably comfortably. I don't know why people are saying they'll easily come straight back down if they watch them. They're a totally different kind of team to what you usually see come up from the Championship and they'll catch teams off guard (not this weekend mind).
Don’t know about that. They seem to be signing attacking players. They need centre half’s and centre midfielders. Know I know they have Calvin Phillips on loan. I hope he hits the ground running. I think they’ll be straight back down.

It's definitely not a good deal. Initial fee is too low. It's bordering on just acceptable but it's not a good deal.

That's said, I think the club have banked on this sale early and when the first deal (20) that shows up, it was getting accepted. I heard this very early. This is why he didn't appear in any new strips or promotions ..

I personably would rather take a 5m hit with a sizeable sell-on clause a week before deadline day rather than selling him in the final hour with no time to replace/reinvest with just a flat 25m.

that’s just me anyway mate, respect your opinion though. Key is investment, not fully expecting them to go out and splodge excess millions on one single player but I expect to see a difffdnr calibre of player brought through the door, which I think we will in Simic.

I love Clarke but Summerville is much better. Has PL experience as well and is younger.
This is key here, the daggers are back out for the club and people aren’t thinking clearly. We want a quality striker ? We needed to sell at the right price for clarkes experience.

As others have already put, if we didn’t sell this year it’s likely to be less next year. All about managing risks

Aye mate. It's a tough one. First big sale of the model. We are flying and our best player has just been sold ( to what most fans) see a low offer. Big test coming up.

Yep. That's why he was always going this year. I heard that they knew the optimum time to sell was now. This was very early on in this window. That's why when everyone was spouting new contract, I said he was leaving.

Anyone not looking forward to the game Saturday?

nowt to fear- obviously won both their games but they were made to look like 1970 prime Brazil by Cardiff( who were actually on top and should have been a few goals to the good before their keepers OG) we are at home and will have a massive backing , Absolutley no reason not to think we can’t turn these over

Good luck to the lad but gutted to be honest. But we have to move on and just hope someone steps up

disappointed to see he’s gone to Ipswich but he definitely deserves a crack at the Prem and I think he’ll return some good numbers and move on for bigger money when Ipswich get relegated but better players than him have been and gone and we’ve survived so I’m sure we’ll be alright

Joking in a way. I said earlier it all felt exciting with two class strikers in, now we have neither for the game and no Clarke . Massive week ahead for us

I’m still intrigued by Mark Douglas’s comment in his article, given he was one of the first to break the news Ipswich where sniffing.

“A replacement for Clarke could also be lined up before next week’s deadline.”

Tells me that they don’t see Mundle as the main man just yet, intrigued to see who we replace him with.

Prem loan maybe? None jump out at me though, we’re linked with arevena a while back he was a left winger/forward wonder if we revisit someone like that

We can’t keep blaming Harte for everything, he wanted prem footy we can’t offer that, it stings but we couldn’t have asked for more of Clarke in his time here

He also wanted a better wage with us to represent his importance to the team. The reason any deal that has been on the table for ages, wasn't agreed was that it was below market value.

We have a price and it's why Stewart and now Clarke have both said no and moved into the PL.

Totally agree, but the tweets from Harte about Clarke's empty car park space weeks ago was an indication of him brokering a deal elsewhere..
Best of luck to the lad.
