First ‘major’ sale of a ‘key’ player was always going to get a huge reaction!
What does need to be remembered is the other players we have ‘tied down’ to contracts in recent months shows we are still going in the right direction
We’ve been linked with some exciting players in the last 48 hours so reinvestment will be interesting to see
Onwards and Upwards!!

Does not matter what you value a player at the true value is determined by what someone is prepared to pay.

Speakman and the recruitment team have done exactly what they are supposed to do find players who have an upside in value and can improve the team at the same time. This transfer window was the optimum time to release funds from JC to improve the calibre of players that we want to attract to.

These funds will have helped fund the contracts for Jobe , Ballard and Rigg and secure Brown.

Looking forward to seeing who comes in now.

Should be all over Mikey Johnston who was at WBA on loan last year to replace Clarke - leaving Celtic but heavily linked with Burnley & Sheff Utd

I’m gutted Clarke is gone was great to watch and the further into the window we got the more I started to think are we really going to keep him. But he deserves the move hopefully he kicks on so we can get more out of the deal.

I also think Mundle could be the answer he had a great pre-season playing mostly with the second team always looked dangerous. I think muddle is around where Clarke was when he joined but with better players around him he could be a few months from a breakout. Spurs let Clarke go in the first place because they thought mundle had a higher ceiling as well

My take on it, for what it's worth. Is that I'm going to trust the professionals at the club to negotiate the best price they can get. I never believe all the rumored prices. Buying club leaks low payments. Selling club will leak a higher value. All I know is that we've been linked with a couple of exciting prospective signings the last 24 hours and if Jack Clarke wants to leave, then we should let him go with our blessings. He's been our best player that past 2 seasons and I'll be interested to see if he can adapt to the Premier league.

Hopefully with the 20m we can strengthen the squad and buy the players outright without extras.

We might even buy him back when we swap divisions next year.l

Another way of looking at Clarke going

Mind you, I haven't felt this gutted about a player leaving since Gabbiadini left in 1991!

First stage of the model finally taking place.

The foundation of the squad built with young players with a resale value. We are now getting a big fee while we have a replacement already at the club with more potential.

Now it's down to Mundle to take that opportunity with both hands and make himself a Prem player with us.

I personably think it’s a good deal, we’ve got a sell on percentage in there too and didn’t have any other club to let them battle with to get that price up.

leaves with my best wishes, he’s a success of “the model” when you consider he was signed for 1m and developed under our roof into the player he is today.

sadly just outgrew the club and is ready for the premier league before we where.

Key is re-investing it, which I think they clearly are going to do with Isidor and Simic, expect more through the door too.

Still time for us to do a David Levy IF Southampton or Chelsea (joke) come in for him last minute.

It's definitely not a good deal. Initial fee is too low. It's bordering on just acceptable but it's not a good deal.

That's said, I think the club have banked on this sale early and when the first deal (20) that shows up, it was getting accepted. I heard this very early. This is why he didn't appear in any new strips or promotions ..

Is it not a balancing act? Haggle for more and the sale goes through on deadline day. The club then fails to put the money ( or some of it) to good use. The Speakman and KLD crew pick back up and everything is negative again.

I was hoping for more, but it means **** all IF the club can get 3 future stars with it.

Hopefully someone comes in to create a bidding war late on.
