I don’t think it’s the owner being cautious, I think it’s the rules. The number of posters who say KLD tightest billionaire ever’ etc when the EFL would remove points if he blew it
As much as a small minority don't like it, we are set up to not break the existing rules and probably be ahead of the vast majority of clubs for the 24/25 season.I don’t think it’s the owner being cautious, I think it’s the rules. KLD could easily spend, get us up and flog the club ...
... that would make some people happy.
Surely if we are in the red every year we are spending more than we should already.I’m not so sure, don’t think promotion from this league is as easy as that. We’ve seen Stoke try and fail to pump in big money whilst being far more wealthy than more than half of the PL as well as all the championship. And we still have no idea how much money KLD actually has himself. Coventry pumped £40m back in last season and didn’t even make the play offs. We are doing it the right way for sure but a bit slow for my liking. We should be spending what we can and using our revenue as a “big club” of the division to bully the others.

I think Ipswich have a decent approach to it. Ownership a bit convoluted, but no issues with FFP. They look to me a side who will do well in the prem now too.Well not quite because you’re allowed a loss of X amount per season. You don’t buy a football club to make money and if you do then it’ll only end one way. It’s really becoming a bit of a train wreck in the premier league with clubs blatantly bending the rules to spend more, that’s the beast football has became unfortunately. So much money and greed involved.

The psr rules are quite clear and we are sticking to them if bit already compliant with the seasons after rules.
As long as the EFL and Pl hold their nerve and introduce proper punishments we will be incredibly well placed.

oh aye, i was not saying he is cautious, i saw enough with mr short trying to throw money in...it really is the only way for me, nice and steady and KLD and the rest are showing they are on the right track.
unfortunately i feel the current 'top six' will escape any real bother due to the pulling power they have.

The likes of Villa, Newcastle, West Ham etc are also chucking in some serious money and getting away with it. Villa have the 5th or 6th highest wage bill in the PL, they were in the championship about 5 years ago. That wage bill will probably gazump most champions league clubs barring the massive ones and they’re not even one of the “big 6” in the Prem. It’s becoming wild and something needs to change there’s nothing fair about the system they’ve brought in to apparently make it fair.
Just to add to this, I’ve just been reading the news and seen that Mbappe is to become the third highest paid player in La Liga behind Lewandowski and De Jong. De Jong is first and his wage is apparently 20% more than Mbappes at €37.5m a year. Barca were apparently going bankrupt a few years ago go figure! Corrupt as f*ck.
De Jong's contract is a bit misleading and it's the reason why Barcelona have been trying to offload him.
He was still being paid obscene amounts, but he took a huge salary deferment for 2 years around Covid to help Barcelona stay afloat. They deferred his wages, which is why his salary is now the biggest (it includes his standard salary rumoured to be £350k a week and the back payments on top).
They've been trying to force him out of the club for a year so that they don't need to make the deferred payments to him.
Well well wellWhey hey... we have a striker, uses both feet, big, physical and fast
Well well well
Well done Hemir
Some strike like. Really hope he comes good here, he has all the attritbutes to.
