Yeah that’s a good return, from the little I’ve looked him seems to be what we need. Wonder if we can get a deal done with him being in last year of his contract.
Just hypothetical obviously but a front three of Clarke-Mendy-Sima would be good. A lot of goal threat there.
We all did mate! It was an obvious move with so many young players in the side. We could see the reasoning.
That Sima is a weird one, mostly a CF but played a blinder at RW for rangers. His profile and build looks very CF like too
Nah nish. Quiet for me at the moment. Don't get a lot of the transfer stuff any more. It's more of the other stuff.
That would be fantastic wouldn’t it. Sima’s versatility to play through the middle aswell is an asset.
I did too. Seemed to make a lot of sense but we all knew it was a high risk high reward kind of signing and unfortunately didn’t work out. But as I mentioned the accumulation of other younger players that had had no effect on our squad as of yet will be burning away more of a wage bill than Dack himself was
Balance is definitely the key and not always easy to achieve. I’m hopeful more of the young lads from last year can have an impact this year.
Agree, If RLB likes the lad and our scouts/recruitment team take a look and like him too then i'd be all for him, sounds expensive and Brighton don't let their players go for cheap usually though
Beale talking about signing Sima for Rangers in June last year: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66045321 "He has excellent variety in his game," said manager Michael Beale. Talking to the club website, Beale added: "He can fulfil a number of attacking positions in our team. "He has recently turned 22 and has experienced playing in three top domestic divisions, in the Europa League and is a senior international for Senegal. "We met a few weeks ago and discussed at length his alignment to our style of play and his future development as a player. "He is someone I have followed closely since his breakthrough in the Czech Republic and I am extremely pleased to have Abdallah join the squad at the very start of pre-season."
Absolutely. We mustn't underestimate that a number of these players will have benefitted from 2 seasons experience in this league.
Definitely mate. It’s very nit-picky because Browne is a great signing but I wish he was a 6 because that’s what we’re really crying out for. Hoping Neil can step up there next season because it’s probably the hardest role on the pitch but one that will turn him into a real player if he can nail it. What I will say though is City have a DoF who seems to get it right very often and they always buy players that fit pep’s system that’s not a coincidence. As does Edu at Arsenal. Whereas United/Chelsea seem to just buy players for fun hoping they might fit in somewhere.
Would also be the first real test of RLb’s involvement. Hope we’re interested and get him in, looks like an ideal fit for us.
My mate is a season ticket holder at Rangers and said “Yeah he was really good mate, took a while to get going but obviously that was under Beale. We definitely would have got him permanent if not for the cost”
The only link to Sima is 'Upthere' on RTG and his track record is absolutely abysmal. I'm personally not putting much stock in the link.
I remember watching a highlights reel a few years ago of a player Sunderland were apparently interested in and the player looked amazing. I reckoned we should’ve signed him. All I’ll say is that it was a bloody good job SAFC decided not to sign Jozy Altidore.
