We might even try and get a proper tune out of Tobias Figuereido - his career history suggests there has been a proper player there in the past, time for a reprise.

Wouldn’t be the first time a player who was previously **** has come good. Particularly with centre halves.

In fact to a lesser extent Macca was very similar last season, just became solid. This time last year everyone thought he was error prone.

Re goalkeepers, its a habit of this club to collect them going back at least 10 years. Maybe the attitude is, we will find a good one of our own eventually. Maybe find a goalkeeping coach to make the one's we have a standard that we dont need to look. Cheaper than buying one I would have thought.
Wasn't it about 10 years ago that we went through a whole season without having a single goalkeeper on our full-time books?

I was going to say it feels like a more recent idea than the original post suggested. Went through a period of loans with the likes of Stockdale, Mannone and Amos

Honestly we were a midtable side second half of last season with players out injured and some square pegs in round holes. You look at someone like Coventry last year who, in my opinion, had about 2 really quality players in Hamer and Gyokeres and they pushed on. I dont think its out the question to sneak in and be in and around. Granted I think promotion is probably a pipe dream.

Possible but improbable!

Going to need players like Adama to stay fit all season to get anything out this season if recruitment is limited. Probably the best attacking midfielder in the league, I’d be confident without the impression that Greaves and Oscar are nailed on to leave. But with it looking like it’ll drag I worry we'll see replacements brought in that require integration into the system when the games will already be coming. The current squad I feel fully fit is top 10 with a decent left back added into the mix and 2 direct wingers I reckon it could knock on the door of top 6.

My biggest worry is if Greaves and Oscar leaving drags on. If we need the money to reinvest in other areas and we get good offers, accept them now and get it over with. No point selling Greaves August 28th and struggling to find a replacement.

Did we? I thought Macca was great when he came in under Grant and was surprised he barely got a look in to start the season.

To be fair he made a series of errors at the back end of last season but clearly wasn’t a long term issue as he’s been fine ever since.

Yeh I recall some mentioning that he was prone to error. Granted nowhere near the criticism Fig has received.

Good post NT....I've been looking at various prediction posts on YouTube. Nobody thinks we'll get any higher than about 18th. There is one, from some idiot Sunderland fan, well he says he a Sunderland fan living in Cornwall. Said and quote..... "I've never been to Hull. To far, its boring, so Hull will come 20th...'

Never let it be said that care in the community doesn't work. I'd absolutely love it if we finished top 6....'LOVE IT.'..I mean Kevin Keegan style of 'love it' ...

No idea whats happening in this press conference but I 100% just heard Acun say "Turkish Simon Cowell" twice :emoticon-0140-rofl:

More from Liam
The club is getting back towards where it was when I was a player here. We're going in the right direction. Says the staff that have been here for 15-20 years are saying it feels like it did when City were in the top flight.

Top 6 never crossed my mind for this season. Maybe bottom 6.

I said 14th and got called negative. We don't have all the pieces of a top 6 team yet and given the FFP situation, I don't think we will have by September either. People need to temper their expectations. I don't think we'll be anywhere near bottom 3 but I can't see us being near top 6 either.

We're a decent side but we're often all fart and no ****. We're a possession-based team under Rosenior but we don't create enough chances and our lightweight midfield gets bullied when we don't have possession.
