Villa would have first refusal to buy Philogene for a fixed fee of £15m should the Tigers win promotion to the Premier League, with the clause only coming into effect when the two clubs are in the same division.
What's the price if they get relegated? Unlikely as it seems but Id be surprised if it was still 15m in that scenario.
That's a cracking deal for us tbf if that's what it took to get it over the line! Wonder if the clause lasts for the duration of his contract or it has to be the same season we get promoted. I'd hate to get promoted, they don't see him worth the 15mil then a season or two after they pinch him for much less then he's worth to us
I missed these comments on Connolly's contract in Tan's recent interview... 'We've started already for January. While we're in the season and the window has closed, we've signed 10 players and we've had some immediate impact from the players we've signed, such as Tyler Morton, Aaron Connolly's doing so well. There are obviously some in-house issues to be dealt with first. We will sit down with Aaron and with his performances going the way we want them to. It's not about losing, it's about the timing. We will sit with him and rediscuss his future with us, hopefully, he'll stay and we'll convince him and give the best financial solution for him to stay. I don't see much of an issue for now. He needs to focus and we don't want to be distracting him while he's on the path. We will and I know we are receiving some offers and interest in our players'.
Jaden Philogene's £5m move from Aston Villa to Hull City during the latter stages of the transfer window did not go down well with supporters of the Premier League, with Villa fans unhappy at a young talent being sold despite featuring regularly for Unai Emery's side in pre-season. The 21-year-old winger was sold to the ambitious Championship club with a buy-back clause inserted into the deal, one of a number of young talents who left Villa Park in the summer window. Those sales, however, were necessary according to the club's transfer boss Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, or Monchi, as he's commonly known, who says moving Philogene, Cameron Archer and Aaron Ramsey out helped ease the club's position with financial fair play (FFP).
Some miss by Haji Wright last night. Coventry fans seem to think he's **** (looked poor against us). Obviously, he might still come good. But, the Turkish league is little barometer of how a player will do in the Championship, but perhaps most telling, I recall most Antalyaspor fans I read commenting on the deal being very happy to sell him. I still believe we're a striker short and I know he ended up being a bit out of our range, but is Wright a bullet dodged?
See Rak-Sakyi got a start last night for Palace in their loss to Man U got subbed off after 45 not sure why.
I’m waiting for Sinik to play , I think his close control could be really useful working with Vinagre
That's not bad news getting subbed and not alot of games probably increases our chances of going back in for him in Jan which i suspect we will be especially if we keep going how we are to strengthen the push for 2nd half of the season.
Can we loan Oscar Bibb from Man City looks a cracking young midfielder , the Geordies can’t get near them but City can’t score with Haaland on the bench
I not sure anyone in the championship has a cat in hell's chance of getting Oscar Bobb on loan unfortunately.
