What an exciting time to be a City fan! Excellent piece of business with JG, other additions exciting, but this is icing on the cake, the real deal. A long term deal, no doubt with release clauses, hopefully he becomes a Premier League player with us, but he has options. Win win. He will develop immeasurable going forward with the better calibre of players around him, not just defensively, but positioning, linking forward play, as will Slater also.

Ecstatic Tigress, currently back in my happy place in Paphos, having survived a 4 1/2 hour flight sat next to two delusional Leeds supporters....there was some tasty banter going on!! Needless to say, I’m a Hull lass, you can take a girl out of Hull, you can’t take Hull out of the girl..... I gave as good as I got!!
King Jason?

Pretty gutted Greaves had signed I was hoping we’d be able to clear him off the wage bill at the end of the season.
Going to have a few quid on Greaves to score anytime tomorrow (it's destined to be) never bet on him before so it's saved we a load of money whilst I've been coining it on correct score (just got a feeling it's his day tomorrow )...score draw & I'll be

Happy enough ☺️

Hope you twatted one or both as well Tigress?

He won't be their only signing. They'll be at the top end come May.
Never understood Boro being one of the bookies' favourites every season when they routinely fall flat on their faces in the final straight. We've spent five of the last fifteen seasons in the PL yet are never fancied while the Smoggies have been there once(?) in the last ten. Weird.

This year they were meant to have a really strong window under Wilder and push on. But it seems like they've struggled to get deals done for domestic players and I've read he wants 4 key players by the end of the window.

That's a pretty tough ask in 2 weeks, when you've had all summer

They were equally fancied under Karanka, Pulis, Woodgate and Warnock with little previous form to justify it. As soon as we have one poor season we're routinely lumped in with your Rotherhams and your Barnsleys. Like I say, it's very strange.

Don't forget that, apart from all the initial odds before any bets are placed, that odds are a representation of how people are betting rather than specifically how likely it is that any particular team will be promoted. Odds are usually calculated to ensure that the bookies end up the eventual winners regardless of the outcome.

I've always felt that we get routinely judged as "little old Hull" when it comes to pre-season predictions. You can usually find us in 18/19th in the Championship in any generic media season preview table. Even when we came down in 15/16 with that ridiculous squad of PL players, the predictions were all 8th, 10th, and so on. Generally, neutrals just can't ever imagine us doing well for whatever reason.

'You can't see the wood for the trees.' I've never understood the meaning of that. Dam silly if you ask me.

I like the saying, used to be a joke when I was kid...

Paddy and Mick were walking down the road, Paddy said, Mick can you see that lovely forest over there. No Paddy, I can't see it for all the trees in the way.

Don't suppose its particularly funny now but back then it had me.

People have us as a league 1 or 2 club for some reason, even though we've spent far more seasons in the second tier than any other league

We had the strongest squad on paper in the Championship for the 15/16 season as well. We probably should’ve won the title or automatic at least and we were on course to do so until we had a blip. It’s crazy how pundits just overlook us.
