Elliot Anderson from Newcastle maybe. He’s a seriously good talent

Smells the end for Doc and Cannon though if that comes off

I'd take Elliot in a heartbeat but I fear with Shelvey's injury Newcastle won't let him go anywhere now.

A real pity as he probably won't get much game time and after his unbelievable influence on the second half of Bristol Rovers season last year, a move to the Championship is the stepup he needs next.

If he stays at Newcastle but doesn't play much he may be available in January though.

Coyle has a great cross. It matters less in the 4-3-3 anyway need defensively sound full backs first before anything which Ngakia definitely is

Yeh his crossing is decent. My thing with Coyle is that he always tries to do too much, wish he would simplify his game a bit and play more to his strengths. I think it was against Preston when he shot from range twice, maybe 1 in 100 go in if he's lucky. The frustrating thing is that we struggled to create and if he could have just showed a bit of patience, passed it on, we potentially would have created a better opportunity for someone more skilled in taking them.

This was when the assumption was it was an experienced player and the issue was squad depth at their current club rather than the issue being a prospect they don’t want to let go permanently.

I'm just going by what the insiders on here were saying. I'm sure they pretty much confirmed it was him.

Not sure how a number 10 youngster is going to get much game time here if the other recruits happen.

I have been thinking.

Estupidnan
Tetteh
Dervisoglu
Allahyar
Pelkas
Sinik
Longman
Tufan
Seri
Woo
Slater

11 players battling it out for 5 places, all of whom will want to be starting 11.

Potentially plus Jones after Saturdays showing making that number 12. And if Traore is indeed done and just yet to be announced, 13 once he’s available.

Then there’s the likes of Smith, Doc, Williams, Cannon, Wilks etc, some of which will probably leave but not all.

Some may say it’s a good headache to have and yes there will be injuries, fatigue and loss of form over the season but that’s a lot of players who will all rightly be wanting to play and some very real potential for discontent.

Some players who we think are ordinary , improve beyond recognition when playing and training with very good players.

Williams looking likely too if a right back comes in I’d argue

Not having a go here but I find it really weird that people talk so much about Williams being a right back. I know he played a couple of games as an emergency wing back at the end of McCann's time, but people seem to have got really carried away with that. From everything I've seen he's a very lightweight, attacking winger; as much a full back as Wilks is.

Players like Williams seem like really good depth to me... I'd prefer not to see the back of him. I know we're out of the Carabao Cup now but if we start using the allotted number of substitutions available on a matchday then there's still room for players to get game time, even to try and help prevent our starters picking up niggling injuries late into games once they've been on for 70 odd minutes.

Williams I’d keep ahead of Wilks or Scott for a winger option. Scott was unlucky I feel to get another injury. If he had a decent pre-season he might’ve had a place in this team. Wilks just hasn’t done anything to warrant keeping him now. I think if we get an offer £500k plus, we should shift him.

Yes they do however I don’t expect those who we think are ordinary will get much of an opportunity if all these ‘done deals’ are indeed done deals. But even so, in that case, potentially that number of players vying for scant few positions grows yet bigger.

There's a few that will be shipped out ( hopefully ) once we complete incomings. We are in the fortune position we don't need to sell before we buy

Anyone in particularly, Howden? Wilks and Cannon being the obvious ones that spring to my mind and probably Tyler Smith (either loan or sold). Anyone else?

Those you've mentioned, plus there is potentially some interest north of the boarder in Doc

Interesting. I thought Doc had a decent pre-season and looked like he improved a bit over the summer in terms of the technical side of his game. Would anyone risk signing him whilst injured though? He’s out for two months and the window closes before he’s fit and available again.

At this point, I’d **** Wilks off just to free up a squad number for an incoming <laugh>

Why all the sneering at Wilks? He’s alright and played a major part in our L1 winning title. He’s obviously not going to single handedly fire us to the premier league but he’s a decent player to have around as an option costing, you would think, less than **** all.

Yea he has a decent cross, i like coyle.
So if we are bringing in another it should be someone better that can cut him. But maybe they are thinking of using ngakia as a back up

not sure
