Don’t think we need a number 10 on top of Halil and Pelkas tbh. Would seem a bit overkill even with our injuries.
More of a serious suggestion: Liam Delap (Man City) He does fit the bill. Though it seems all the Championship clubs are after him!
BC says City looking for a permanent deal – so lower your expectations and some. If it’s a youngster with potential, who might be available to buy from a PL club, it has to be someone maligned in some way, at a club where the ‘pathway’ is congested and someone who has probably already done the loan rounds. I’d guess it'll be a player from the lower half of the PL, that the Champ Man players know, but most others (including me) haven't heard of.
Elliot Anderson from Newcastle maybe. He’s a seriously good talent Smells the end for Doc and Cannon though if that comes off
Anderson is very highly rated by Newcastle, think he’s in their first team plans this season and about to sign a new contract
I think the idea of a Man City player isn’t outrageous. There is a few in their U21 who are quality but no chance of game time with them. Delap and Palmer is a no though.
I think Archer is a definite no, he’s in the Villa squad & is expecting to get a lot of chances. I did think of Garner, but Man Utd looking to sell, Spurs supposed to be interested. Could be Kaide Gordon from Liverpool though, only 17, but they’re hoping to get him a decent loan. However I’d rather see us use our own kids first, unless of course he’s an exceptional talent on a Rooney or Owen scale. After the whole Matt Smith loan last year, I’m now getting a bit dubious when it comes to the reporting of these highly rated kids from the top teams.
I personally find loans a bit counter-intuitive unless there’s an option to buy or you need some extra bodies for cover. But the loan market these days is geared towards loaning out youngsters for experience down the ladder and seeing if they’re ready to make the step up once they return. We ourselves so it with Andy Smith going to Grimsby. When a loan with no option ends, it’s either a player who didn’t do much and you don’t want to try and sign them anyway like Forss or the player had such a good season their parent club wants to keep them around like Archer.
I cant see why they’d be reluctant to keep him mind. He doesn’t have a future there regardless from what their fans are saying
Coyle has a great cross. It matters less in the 4-3-3 anyway need defensively sound full backs first before anything which Ngakia definitely is
This was when the assumption was it was an experienced player and the issue was squad depth at their current club rather than the issue being a prospect they don’t want to let go permanently.
