No. That's often how it is done, but a leveraged buy out is literally just funding a purchase of a company (in this case club) almost solely with debt. The hint is in the name.

So in that case, Pearson takeover was leveraged because he borrowed the funds from Wilkinson. Most takeovers will be leveraged using that definition.

He’s a journalist who has worked across the world for nearly 40 years, so will have a good understanding of how different cultures operate in business.
Someone described him as ‘shady’ earlier in this thread. I was backing that up. But you’re right, what we see as shady may not be viewed that way in other cultures.
He also stated that to have got on in business there, you have to be very well in with Erdogan (which I think he has confirmed their friendship?). Ergodan was last year listed as the fourth most corrupt person by the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.

Yeah but he kept Putin waiting in front of the cameras so he must be an ok guy (unless you cross him :emoticon-0107-sweat).

I deal with many very successful people in Turkey, they're neither corrupt, nor mates with Erdogan.

Obviously many high profile businessmen in Turkey will have connections to Erdogan and there will be some who are involved in dodgy deals, but to label an entire nation as corrupt is ridiculous. Exactly as it would be if someone in Turkey made the same claim about the UK.

I do find all this questioning and leaping to ridiculous conclusions a little bit crass.

2 things.

1) I think we have an owner discussion thread and if we don't then we should, even if it's to discuss the warm feeling I get every time I see his Instagram stories with city involved

2) am I right in thinking that as far as we know we're in for 'the mystery number 10' maybe pelkas, Nwakaeme and a loan from the Prem and that's it at the moment?

There will be a few more after Sinik and Tetteh according to Baz. Can't see us signing both Nwakaeme and Pelkas though.

Has it been repaid now? I must have missed that, thought it was going to be repaid but instead the money was used to fund transfers. Perhaps I misunderstood ST. Would be strange for the EFL to care then if we're debt free.

Maybe they really were simply ensuring we remained within FFP?
