I like Coyle as a player too. But I think the negativity is more to do with the lack of pace down the right. I wish we could have a RB and a RW. But those formations seem to be gone now!

He's adequate as a player. Can't comment on his dressing room influence, which will be what determines whether he's a good captain or not.

I mean the rest of the Coyle's seem like top fellas so I'm not surprised. I'm sure he's great around the dressing room. But as has been said, he's a very average player.

I actually think the bigger news is that Greaves is vice captain, so it's highly likely we'll see him as captain more and more as the season goes on.

Agreed on Greaves. More assured of starting every game if past seasons are anything to go by.

I mean I’m happy to be wrong but if someone’s picked as captain I’m confident they are in the plans as a first teamer.

Not always the case that captains start automatically, but he'll get plenty of game-time anyway even if we do bring in another RWB/RB.

Theres a difference between 'club captain' and 'team captain'.

I saw enough of Tetteh in 15 minutes to know your comment about him not being strong is bollocks. I think you’ve not seen a few of these players for a while which is what you’re basing your opinions off:emoticon-0148-yes: how is 15 goals in the 6th best league quality wise globally not prolific either :emoticon-0127-lipss

I saw 2 seasons of him, but yeah I might be judging at Super League level, may be he is OK for Championship level.

But I don't get where you get your data, Tetteh never scored 15 goals in a season during his career, his best is 11 goals in Czechia and 7 goals in Turkey. His two seasons total is 12. And if you think Turkish league as 6th best league, well man you are way off, we are out of top 10 last season and probably around 20s next year according UEFA coefficients unless a miracle happens this year. Huge economic crisis happening and all clubs are caught with 10 times more debt than their annual budget. Government started a program to save them and arranged cheap loans from state bank.

Either you are very pessimist or we bought a bunch of c***
Not really, Seri is a good one for sure, Estupinan and Tetteh can do well in Championship and Ozan if he takes care of himself he is way above Championship level, mediocre Premier League player at least, but that's a big IF.

It also depends where you see Hull, for relegation battle they are OK, as a promotion contender, well these strikers are not Mitrovic for sure.

I don't think so, he's just a similar calibre of player to an Eaves/Smallwood/Doch

Different positions obviously but I think it's harsh to put him in the Eaves and Smallwood bracket.

He's scored a few lovely goals now, but hardly anyone even acknowledges that as a sign that he has some ability. People just seem to have him pegged permanently as a low quality player no matter what he does. Reminds me of Andy Dawson, who it was constantly said we needed to improve upon.

Also, being club captain doesn’t necessarily mean first-choice. Fernandinho was club captain for Man City but behind Rodri in the pecking order.
