Totally agree. Wasn’t he runner up to Honeyman in the League One season? I agree, he didn’t do a lot wrong last season, apart from dare to challenge a local boy for his shirt. He certainly doesn’t deserve the criticism he gets on here.Elder was absolutely fine last season. He didn't even get dropped, he just got injured and Fleming took the chance he'd been waiting years for when it finally came. Elder still got subbed on regularly when he got fit again, often playing out of position to help us see out games, which says a lot about his value as a player.
I'm well aware that a lot of people are saying he isn't good enough any more, but I think it's a crazy narrative that's just snowballed for no good reason beyond people needing a scapegoat.
