Brighton seemed upset when they released him. I think we've snapped up a decent player if prem fans weren't too pleased. UTT

I think it originally came about, as part of an agreement between UEFA and the European Commission, due to footballers contracts potentially breaching EU employment law.

It was essentially both. When the bosman ruling happened it left teams and UEFA open to a few legal issues surrounding notice periods. But it was also to maintain some competitive integrity as you did have some situations of players leaving teams with nothing to play for to go to title contenders on short term deals.

For what it's worth, you still get that now with keepers (we loaned Ingram to Luton a couple of season ago for their playoff campaign).

Judging by how you target soft ****s on here such as vern doubt you could build a Lego set fella.
Target !!!!! I’m blind as a ****ing bat, target my arse, he’s a ****ing tool, and “ such as “ ? That would point to more than 1, I’m not that bad at counting, looks like not everyone on here can. And Lego oh my lord, not a chance, my ocd would go off the scale… Target !!!! For **** sake…..

There still needed to be a compelling political argument to justify it. And as I recall there were a few highlighted cases across Europe which provided a sense of injustice amongst fans.

That at the very least helped provide a backdrop for the legislation/arbitration at the time.

They get some stick at times from some so to help balance a bit, just listened to latest 1904 club podcast. Alzate signing etc. A decent listen tbf.
Only niggle for me was that they didn't seem to know that he'd been training with Ipswich and that he'd have several other offers, that we'd shown earlier interest then firmed up.to take him.
Decent listen overall. For free

Any suggestions in there about another striker who's a free agent ?

Fletch threw 3 names in which were all convincingly (to me anyway) dismissed by Baz due to them being old, experienced and very expensive (Billy Sharp wasn't one of them but all of the same ilk). Baz did indicate something could still happen on the striker front as they had not given up (my words).

I did like the fact Baz said if people were slagging him off (for stuff he didn't actually say by the way), then someone else was having a quieter week.

I like him.
