Barca wont pay 30m for him
Good for us to demand it though. I’d take £20m
A new keeper signed from a club the owner has ties to, when the manager didn't want a keeper, and who apparently can't play with his feet as the manager wants his keepers to do, and which was then used by the ownership as a stick to beat the manager with when he wasn't used. And now the owner expects him to be our number 1 under a new manager who is famously even more obsessed with having his goalkeepers play on the ball. It's a mess.

There is...PLT said so...Think this is harsh. Pandur was highly-rated in the Netherlands. I was surprised we got him for the fee we did as I would’ve valued him at least £4 million if I was in charge of Fortuna Sittard. He’s young, commands his box excellently and is a great shot-stopper. There isn’t any evidence he isn’t good with his feet either.
That’s a rye comment that Chazz. I hope he might flour in the roll.Did sliced bread ever play in a double pivot?
Now he’s a cringe online coachWe helped him get a stunning property portfolio
Who said he can't play with his feet?
Baz Cooper said a week or two ago that that was what LR didn't like about him.
He said whatever suits PLT’s narrative.Did he actually say can't play with his feet, or was it LR thought allsop was better at it as there's a pretty big difference difference...
He said whatever suits PLT’s narrative.
****in hell. I'm the one who heard it but you and Howden have decided what was said, and are at the same time accusing me of making it suit my narrative. And the only possible reason for this aggressive reaction is that you don't like what I'm saying.
Baz said explicitly that LR didn't fancy Pandur because of his ability to play with his feet. No mention of Allsop at the time. It was on the 1904 club, go find it if you want.
I wish people like you would stop with the facts. Its much more fun having a fanny flap because we haven't signed 7 players alreadyOur first signing last season was Xavier Simons on a permanent deal, that was July 1st. If Giles is signing, that’s when he’ll arrive.
A few U21 team signings aside, our first proper permanent first team signing last season was Jason Lokilo on July 18th.
Liam Delap joined 2nd July, then Vingare on the 20th on loan deals.
Aaron Connolly was the next permanent signing on 2nd August.
Last Summer was punctuated by loan signings across the window, with Allsopp and Philogene arriving on deadline day.
It’s currently the 25th of June. This isn’t a “slow” window for us, it’s actually about the same as always.
Some clubs sign players early on, some wait. The benefit of signing players early is getting them into your pre season. However, if you blow your transfer funds early doors, it leaves little room for manoeuvre if the season starts and you realise you need to make a change like we did with Ingram/Allsop.
Leave it late and okay you might have pre season with a thinner squad, but you get a lot more variety in terms of choice, which means we can be more specific and precise with our transfers. We have targets and we’re in talks, but we don’t know who might become available because of other transfers later on.
Coventry are signing a few (but they have money from selling Gykores and Hamer), Boro have a couple in, so do Oxford, Rotherham have already signed like five. Others, like us, haven’t signed anybody.
What matters is the quality, not how many or how quickly. There’s no need to overreact or associate a lack of front of house activity with negativity. We’ve had some potential signings written off before they’ve landed at Hymers.
And let’s face it, even we had signed every player we needed and were good to go July 1st having spent £20m, there would still be people disappointed we didn’t get anybody in on transfer deadline day and Burnsey would still think we needed another striker.
Alfie Taylor has returned from his loan spell with League of Ireland side St. Patrick's Athletic.
He said whatever suits PLT’s narrative.
